yes but I don't pretend to not like doing it... nor do I pretend to not accept taking it. comes with the territory. you accept it as part of being here or you don't and go away. but you can't have it both ways.

As far as I can see, how you act is just as childish and "grow the fuck up" ish. It's VERY hypocritical for you to preach about posting in a mature way. It's like froy being an English teacher. Excuse it any way you wish, you still often act like a baby when anybody critiques Dennis.

Good for Styx they got a bunch of people in a park for a show. Thats great. Would you be happy if Dennis did the same (and he has you know).

You act like this is unimaginable for both.

Grow the fuck up and act like you preach... both of you.

You? Confused? Well, wonders never cease. I did NOT make a point of posting DDY's miserable failings to sell out any venue. Nor do I care to. I'm happy when he or Styx sell well. I was being HAPPY FOR the band because 20,000 is a HUGE accomplishment, free or not. And I do believe I stated so already in this thread, had you bothered to read it. Unimaginable, no. UNLIKELY and challenging, yes. This was NOT an argument until a few (and I do mean FEW) decided to make it such, and YOU know that.

You can take your profanity-ridden, "adult" attitude and shove it up your ass.

Oh, of course. It's only immature if you don't ENJOY it. Well, who can argue with THAT logic?

Again - you missed the point. Aren't you one of these people that is always reminding others that concert numbers from week to week don't tell the whole story and blah blah blah blah blah... I just don't understand why you then go back to it the minute it works in your favor.

Besides - one profane word is not "ridden". Sorry you don't like it.

Oh, please, the only "argument" here is with froy...If you want to bitch at somebody, bitch at him for turning it into the talk of attendence. THAT is where it started...and his arguments are so weak, I can understand why Zan would reply back to them, just to get a laugh.

It's the same old crap. A person comes on here with a bit of news they are happy about and the same few people stomp on the thread until it dies. Who gives a damn anymore? You do it, froy does it, and a few others do it. I have done it too at times. It's the same old, "I'm not going to let you be happy and express it on this forum..."

And for another laugh, I'll reply to this one (BTW, thanks for "getting it," Monker. You are dead-on balls accurate).

Yes, "week to week" is the phrase that pays!!! When Suite used to post attendance numbers nearly every single day when Dennis would sell out a show, regardless of the venue size, we'd hear about it, conveniently skipping or not mentioning any that didn't sell as well. I felt it was intentionally misrepresenting how great Dennis' shows were doing in general, for a specific reason. A reason by which, she even admitted to. I said it would be more fair to post ALL the numbers, if she was going to CONTINUE posting that stuff, not just the ones that sold out - OR alternatively, also post when STYX sold out venues. She said, and I quote, "I don't feel like it" and laughed. Now, as a smart person, I can tell when someone's just taking the piss out of us in fun, and I know Suite is not a vindictive person, but still and all, it was getting old (for me) when it continued for as long as it did. I also appreciate that she has kept to her word and not kept posting every time DDY sells out a show, conveniently leaving out everything else.

What *I* did was post an ISOLATED show, which broke RECORD ATTENDANCE because I was impressed. I also did not SEEK this information out with the intention of "sticking it to" anyone (not Dennis, not any of his fans on here). I posted about a second show which sold out - again, my friend gave me this information, I did not seek it out, beause their seems to be a high sense of importance placed on shows that only charge for admission (when it's convenient for them to make it that way, I might add). I gave STYX a WELL-DESERVED kudos for having a good week. I rubbed nobody's nose in it. A select few with sticks up their orafices (no pun intended) felt it was their civic duty to deminish it, and I, as light-heartedly as possible, responded. NOwhere did I get bent out of shape - that was ALL YOU, ASH. I'll also fill you in on something else: If I wanted to post something like this THE MINUTE IT WORKED IN MY FAVOR, I would have done it long ago.

As for your language, I can swear with the best of them, Ash, but there is a certain art to knowing how to get your point across without having to type the word "fuck" every time you want to emphasize something. You seem to lack this ability that most of us here have. It's not any single post you make, it's your apparent need to say fuck every time you find yourself feeling like you need to make a statement. Ironically, when it's telling someone else to "grow up."

Even Froy doesn't need to stoop to that level.

In conclusion, and despite the lack of swearing, I hope I have explained myself clearly and consisely enough for you, Ash.

Have a nice day.

After having read the previous dissertation (Dr. Zan from now on, I promise) and having to take more than one break (bathroom and sleep) to digest it in it's entirety, all I can say is WOW! Considering I enjoy both Ash's and Zan's posts, I am somewhat ambivalent in my response. Yes, kudo's to 'Styx' for the attendance (as I have previously acknowledged) and Kudos also to Dennis for his success. Let's face it, for either to enjoy success in the current music environment is reason to celebrate. Perhaps someday we can all get over what the band member already have (except maybe JY) and simply be happy that the two entities are actually pulling in a crowd. Yes there are the occasional bad attendance days for both, yet they are out there making a living doing what they love. Someday...Maybe...

It's just all so funny. You all complain about Froy and how nuts he is and what not (and I won't argue about any of it because I don't know Froy) but the fact that it bothers you so much is really intriguing. The fact that you feel the need to reply to everything he says even going so far as to talk conversationaly about things you'd say you don't want or won't talk about is just kinda funny.

I'm curious how they measure the attendance of a free show anyway when there is no paid admission - therefore likely multiple points of entry. You can eyeball an event and guess - but thats a very un-scientific way to judge the size of a crowd. However even that isn't the point.

At the end of the day if you want to brag about the attendance of a show by "the band", thats awesome and I respect your right to celebrate it. I expect then you will equally respect the rights of others to celebrate the attendance of other people who were formerly in "the band" when things warrant.

Oh, now this is about Froy? I thought it was about me being a hypocrite. Who is "you all," anyway? Froy is what he is. Believe it or not, I do know him (now), and we like to exchange barbs because that's what we do. He's actually a fun person. No harm, no foul here. Yeah, I'd like to smack him around a little sometimes, but I know he'd like it too much. :-D

Not exactly sure what your beef with any of it is, but you are the only one to get uppity about it thus far. You say you think it's "funny." I guess. lol

If you're so curious, you should do some research on the subject. You might even learn a thing or two.

Well, I'd hate to irk you any more than I already have. lol...I would however expect Suite to jump all over my case if I start posting every single sold out Styx show for the next four months.

Touchy, Touchy are we?

Why, yes you are, thanks for noticing. I've been saying that for months.

I am not going to post attendance numbers but what I found DAMN impressive about Dennis's Rice Lake show was that there were more people in attendance than actually lived in Rice Lake.

DDY attendance- 4,857
Rice Lake population- 4,621

Plus some of us didnt even pay to get in!!!!!!!

I guess you did anyways.

It's nice to see that there are fans that support Dennis and Styx, as it should be.
