what a contradiction. If Perry was MISSED, people would stay away from the concerts because they want PERRY back. Sure, some 'miss' him...but not NEARLY as much as to give HIM credit for all the songs - as you want to do.

Couldn't agree with you more, Monker. You know, as I spend some time reading through some of these posts by certain individuals, it becomes more apparent with every new comment they post that there is nothing new in their argument...regardless of how many different people they try to pretend to be. Saint John/Italia1986 - it's all the same noise.

On one hand, they try giving "props" to Journey's achievements while pretending disdain for the recent "tape gate." On the other hand, the reality is that they are simply trying to find another way to give all praise to Perry.

I've only been back to this board for a few weeks and Johnny wasted no time in bringing on the attack though I had no previous involvement with Johnny prior. The arguments he/she puts forth are no different than the ones the Perry Onlies have been putting forth for years. I especially like the fact that both Saint John and Italia1986 appeared for the first time on this board only two days apart, but in just such a short time, Italia1986 once commented that Saint John made the most sense on this entire board (my paraphrase). Someone try to convince me that Saint John and Italia1986 are two different people AND that SHE is not a Perry Only freakizoid.

Fred, not sure what your fuckin' problem is but please keep me out of your rambling bullshit editorials. As for Italia 1986, I have no idea who he/she is. I am male and my name is Dan. Refer to me however you wish, doesn't matter to me. As for obsession, I'm convinced that you try to make others believe that Journey has had any influence on music over the last 8 years...they haven't. The karaoke party is over my friend. The failed albums with half-ass music days are gone too. What Soto does is yet to be seen, but a stagnant chapter of uninspired music is OVER. Augeri was railroaded, but he chose to lie on the tracks. Healthwise, I wish him the best.

Spot on SJ. Eventually even the SA diehard fans with the wiggle thread over at BT will realize their current God is gone. The majority of them will cry, shake their heads in depair, all the while taking a look at JSS's ass, saying "not bad". Before you know it, he'll have some signature move they'll dig. They'll go ooh and ahhh. Everything will be good as new at BT w/JSS appreciation threads galore. Not long after that, all but a few will be saying "Augeri who?" (crap that's even poetic.)

I agree. Most of the Augeriheads want to minimize Perry's contributions so they try to impose Augeri on people. Hell, the whole forum, moderators included did/do. It's 100% Augeri is perfect or you're bashed and dismissed. It sickened me that people were so spineless that when he had a bad night they'd sugarcoat it and then add something like, "I mean don't get me wrong he was still awesome." They didn't even have the balls to say, 'Well I was kind of disappointed last night. Steve was struggling quite a bit and the show really wasn't up to par with what he's done in the past." That place is a cheerleading section of spineless pussies and brainwashed, overweight sows.

U have no frigging idea SJ. None. Last yr, the Augerihead I work with ropes me into buying the expensive tickets that come w/MNG & u get a t-shirt & Generations. Woopdefuckindo. She's screaming at me that I can't drink too much b4 we go in there, don't cuss, can't bring up Perry or she'll die, telling me they all hate Perry. I'll embarass her if they know she came w/a Perryloon. She sees some of the others in Augeri fan club or whatever & they all go up to Augeri telling him he's the greatest, ready to pass out at the site of him. She drags me up there to shake his hand telling me to be quiet, be nice. I wanted out. It was pathetic. Middle aged mamas and grandmamas kissing up to the replacement guy like he was God. She tells me I'd be the same if it was Perry. Yeah. I admit it. I would. But at least he's Perry. He was the guy who sang when I was a teenager. I still idolize people from my teen yrs. But not the guy who replaces them. I loved Starsky & Hutch the show. I ain't gonna drool over Ben Fucken Stiller tho.

Year b4 that I think or 2 yrs ago is when we were in a bar & RV came in. We were shitfaced by that time. She's poking us telling us not to mention Perry "don't embarass me". WTF. Swooning at the site of RV. I mean come on! "Where's Stevie", she asks RV. He's like "in his room". "Can u give him a message that we love him?" I was never so embarassed in my whole life & the guys that were w/us...all rolling their eyes. Damn. I dunno about her but trust me, all the other ones I met last yr from the little fan club of what 20 or so, will be rubbing it up with JSS soon as it's "official". "Oh Jeffy can we have a photo w/u?" Just give it time & it'll be the "Jeffy jump" or the "Soto smile" or some shit like that. Mark my words. What will we have next? Sotoville? Fuck at least if I met Soto, he might not mind that I was a bit drunk. He'd probably think I had fun at his show.

We've had very similar experiences. I've met Jeff and he's cooler than the other side of the pillow. The dude swears and drinks (Grey Goose in Chicago). He's down to earth and I expect that any fanbase he brings with him, regardless of size, will kick ass too. I'm SO tired of adults acting like hypnotized/mesmerized jackoffs. Deen is quite the opposite. We met him in Hooters in Milwaukee (he recognized us from the front row). He asked us how the show was and we told him there were no keyboards for part of Separate Ways and he was like "no shit?" Asked him if he could hook us up with better seats for Chicago because ticketmaster had us in the fucking 40th row or so. He wrote down my friend's name on a paper towel and put it in his coat pocket. He said "nice to meet you guys, check will call in Chicago." And he went to eat. Sure as shit we had 11th row and after show passes. Jeff, Deen and Neal get along great. They're all cool guys.

Wow. What a class guy Deen is. Now that was totally cool.

When I was w/that girl last year, I felt like I was at a Christian rock show. No cussing, no drinking? I mean come on. I'm female but rock is rock & I'm cool (relatively). I'm not saying Augeri wanted that "purism". He was a rocker back in the day after all. I think maybe him being married forever & being mild mannered brought that out in these folks. I dunno. I could be talking out my ass. It was like blind devotion tho. Hero worship & w/out true cause. I mean do we go up to a guy at a karaoke bar and say "OHM" if he sings pretty good?

I saw SoulSirkUS once in CA & JSS said "fuck" on stage a whole bunch. I was like "yeah" & Neal looked like he loved it. When I first heard JSS was w/Journey, I was like awright! I had tickets already but got 'em when I thought it was SA, I wasn't really looking forward to going & didn't get the VIP or whatever tickets again. I didn't think I could take another MNG w/those women & Augeri. Now I kinda wish I had. I told this girl that JSS would be a different experience. She was so po'd it wasn't Augeri but couldn't sell her VIP tickets. We met up w/her after the show & she was like all bummed out. She didn't even go into the MNG. WTF. I didn't think JSS had the Journey sound totally down at that show. But I kept saying maybe he needed some time. Thing is tho he's cool. He's rock n roll. Journey was always rock n roll w/Perry. W/Augeri it was too meek & mild. I thought I'd totally hate Augeri & didn't want to see him at first. I saw him & he was better than I expected when I did & I went again. I admit that. But I'm still pissed I paid that price for tickets last yr & come to find out he was lippin'. What gets me is he stood there & hugged everyone knowing he'd lipped. Good actor. Give him an Oscar.

JSS seems real & after the clip NeilMacca posted I think he's gonna get this, whip it, rock it & do it justice. He won't be Perry no. But neither was Augeri not even close. He was trying hard to be Perry. JSS is just being JSS singing Journey tunes. Now I think I gotta find another show & go. Thanks for telling me this. Let the Journey continue.

Ok too much vino for me maybe?

Fred (or whoever you are),

Are you drinking alcohol in your morning coffee? That was one of the most ludicrous posts I have read on this board. Are you the board's CIA operative, lurking to indentify the person behind the moniker? Well, it's none of your DAMN BUSINESS. Aren't you the same blowhard who was bragging about being in possession information re: of SP's real estate holding and SS#. That's real touchy stuff in the times we live.

I post MY opinion as I see it and feel it. Just like everyone else has the liberty to do. As far as I know this is NOT a private site open only to those who post more frequently or joined at an earlier date.

I don't apologize for being a loyal fan of Steve Perry. Sorry, if that rocks your world. There are a hell of a lot of us out there, so swallow the bitter pill and get over it. And take your tone down a notch, dude, you song and dance is manic depressive.

To Saint Johnny and Italia1986: I could absolutely careless who you love, worship, hold disdain for or anything else. The stupidity of your posts are obvious. You want to worship Perry? Go for it. It makes no difference to me one iota. What matters to me is those who have decided that Perry was/is Journey and that the other talented guys had nothing to do with Journey's success.

Don't smoke, don't drink and have only a limited amount of caffiene. You two are obviously on some type of juice that keeps your outlook contaminated and your obsession for Perry alive.

You're both worthless and so are your posts. They bring absolutely NOTHING new to this forum. Therefore, neither of you (if indeed you are ACTUALLY two people) are needed. Keep posting though...I love it when Monker and a few others here tear your "reasoning" apart. It's one of the refreshing things on this board. :D

Cussing and drinking don't make you cool. I try not to cuss (don't always succeed) and don't drink very often (perhaps a beer when we eat out occasionally). However, I don't have a problem with people who do cuss (unless it's just totally over the top, like at a Ted Nugent show  ) and I don't care if people have a few drinks. Doesn't bother me.

Sounds like the chick you were with was a little too tightly wrapped with all the "Don't drink and don't cuss" crap. Should've dumped her like a bad habit.

I figure as long as you're not like "F this and F that" every other word, they're probably not going to mind all that much.

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking while reading their propaganda, which is all it really is.

Let's sum this up...
They hate Augeri cuz their girlfriends and/or MNG people love him and swoon over him.
Their girlfriends, or MNG fans in general, embarrass them, repeatedly.
JSS makes them all excited because he says fuck onstage and drinks.
JSS doesn't have the Journey sound, but that's OK because he says fuck and drinks.

What the HELL is that about? It's about Perry fans so engrossed by personalities that they forget it's REALLY about the music. Morons.

Oh, and let's don't forget the Dean propaganda...of getting them good seats and passes, or whatever. Quite frankly, I think that's bullshit. If he can get good seats and backstage passes, why did JSS have to invite him backstage?

They are just full of shit and need a hefty dose of reality.

No, I'm asking you to find a band that replaced their version of Perry, TWICE, and continued to have success. Not "Perry-like singer". Find one - just one.

Yeah, they are so successful they are ALREADY performing the same venues as Styx...They just performed a free concert at the local casino a few months ago...the SAME one Styx did a few years ago. They are just as far off the radar as most other bands from the 80's...and Journey will soon join them.

Translation: I have nothing better to say so I'll do the same 'gay' shit again.

Come up with something different. You have to have something in your skull other then imagining me in women's undies, and singers singing along to tapes.

Styx has had alot more time to make an impression here in the US.
They have toured themselves to death!
Meanwhile Toto has veered away from the States like the plague.
Typical duplicitous Monker bullshit.
Go work for Fox News.

Predicated on what?
You've yet to even see JSS in action.
You sound like those Perryzealots that prophesized the demise of the band yearly as they went out on succesful tours with Augeri.

Nobody in the US gives a crap about Toto. They're a 'has been' band that haven't been worth shit for over fifteen years.

As I said...it's nearly IMPOSSIBLE to replace someone like Steve Perry TWICE. You can find PLENTY of examples of doing it once, but not twice.
