We both know what changes I'm referring too. Come on now.

Yup. Still reaching on "Stone in Love". He's a bit flat because of it. Same with "Ask the Lonely". However, IF he takes care of himself, maybe he can gain a note in his range by singing higher songs like this and learning to sing the higher stuff correctly.
I would really like to hear a professional "boot" on some of these tunes. In the boots we're hearing, even the band sounds out of whack.

No, what I meant was it seemed in places like they were trading off on some parts. Like on Ask The Lonely, at 3:30, Jeff has a real Chris Cornell thing going on with the "When you're down in deep dispair, when you're down in deep dispair," then it sounds like a totally different voice singing "Ask tha lone lone lone lone lone lonely," etc, so I just thought it might be Deen, cause it sounded very clear compared to the other parts. Got the same impression during "Don't Stop Believin'," at the end the "Hold onto that feelayaan" at 3:54-3:58 sounded like a different vocal (Deen) than the rest of the tune. I could be completely wrong, that's what it sounded like to me...

Straight from the horses mouth....
When I need a bit of a vocal rest, Cain will do an extra solo, or Neal will do one....and we might axe Only the Young.
Pretty smart, eh?

Smart move BUT...
Instead of Cain's solo...Play a shortned version of "Into Your Arms" or something.

I like the way Deen sounds on this, a little hoarse, but it's sexy! And backing up Jeff, they sound great together.

Dude are your ears shot? JSS does a VERY VERY good job covering the songs. He doesn't have to sound like Perry to pull it off...of you want a tribute band then by all means go see Evolution or Infinity or any of them. Journey is doing just fine with JSS. He has changed the dynamic and we can expect great things from them.

Aaron wrote:Dude, my ears are still in pretty good shape. I'm not with you on JSS's ability to cover Journey. But hey, different opinions make the world go around right? We'll see how well Journey does going forward. I don't expect great things from them but I could be wrong.
I've asked the question before to Deano and didn't get an answer so I'll ask you. Why do you think Journey will now be this kick ass new band now when Soul SirkUS didn't do shit? I don't see Cain or Valory having enough influence on the band to make it much different. Lets face it, take Soul SirkUS, pull out Marco, plug in Cain and Valory and poof ... we have Journey. I don't see any difference here.
I look at it like this, it like going to Fazoli's for Italian. If I can cook better at the house than I can buy in town, I'll stay home and cook. I don't see Journey any different than Fazoli's. But again, its just my opinion.

I think Jeff brings good things to Journey...I don't see Journey getting as heavy as SS ever...Jeff respects the legacy and sound of Journey too much...remember he is a fan too! I think the new dynamic will be very cool.

Absolutely. Definitely a trade off....But it sounds good. It's a bit different than Deen purely saving a dying Fraudgeris ass....

EHHHH (sound of buzzer on Family Feud)....wrong!
No trade offs, Deen sings his tunes, I sing mine, I'll let you know when you're right though
Damn, why are the shit boots out there, why couldn't have someone put one of Irvine, Vegas or even Mt. View? Sacramento was a 3rd in a row for us, not as confident as previous nights, u know!
As well, before u go blowing horns about pitch, see the show, see the energy going back & forth, if I sat on a stool all night, you might get a perfect, unwinded performance, a boot doesn't show me jumping off risers & running from 1 end of the stage to the other...ok, back to your critique, some here have seen the 'reason' things aren't pitch perfect, but just the same, they enjoyed the 'show'.
I'm out, gotta get my ugly sleep...far too late for beauty sleep!

Yes, I'm serious. I'm referring to the QUALITY of the boot! I shouldn't have to spell everything out. The boot is NOT that great. Did you not read my entire message, Dean? If it was a pro boot, I'm sure the band would sound better, because with that particular boot, I don't think it provided an accurate reflection of what the band ACTUALLY sounded like in concert.
