Dude, if you want answers to the questions you 're asking then just do a little reading on past posts.

Styx is working on a new album, they have 3 songs that we know of in the can and ready to go.

The orchestra show from this summer should be out for Christmas. New, New cd in the spring or early summer of 2007.

Only 2 "original" members still live in the Chicago area. Ah, only to go back in the time machine.............

Time to play volley, now someone will post about the last DDY Chicago show and then the volley will go back to Froy, same old story, just different day.......

Andrew - I have to take some exception to this.

Journey hasn't been touring non-stop... or at least to the extent Styx has for the last 7 or 8 years. There isn't a public fatigue of them. Styx has been in each place once or twice a year for the last 7 or 8 years. There's no novelty to it. They've also toured with the same acts playing the same towns. It's old. Journey is touring with Def Leppard... neither of whom have done a major US tour in a number of years. This has worked well for both bands... but I've read local reviews for this tour - and Journey has not fared as well in those as they have on your web site.

Make no mistake - you are a BIG Journey apologist Andrew - and I'm not saying that is a bad thing - because it's your web site and you can do what you want. But your pro-Journey at any cost opinion is completely transparent and obvious to people who come to this board and read your web site on a near daily basis. Froy is a bit of a bomb thrower, but what he's saying about Styx is and his critisism of them is no more tired than other people's blind support of other acts. (read: Journey). Nobody is asking for objectivity... but I am saying that I'm seeing a bit of the pot calling the kettle black just because you don't agree with what someone happens to be saying about an act.

Just some things to think about. There have been an incremental increase in spam bots attacking the forum of late - perhaps they'd make better targets than Froy.

Ash

P.S. I've not been around in a while... work is killing me of late... but I'm checking in from time to time

I seem to have hit a nerve with you Ash. To respond to your comments:

- Journey have toured EVERY year since 1998. Same if not more than Styx.
- A Journey apologist? No I don't see that sorry. I love the band yes, but I have also been the first to post a compliant when I see something wrong. I'm also a big Styx fan, so what of it?
- I don't believe I have read ANY negative Journey reviews, but it would not bother me if I did.
- Froy has been posting nothing but negative comments for weeks. THAT is what I (and many others) are tired of.
- As for the spam bots - wow, that was a low blow. Pity you don't see how much spam I am deleting across the site and the time I put into doing that.

No Froy has not even posted much in the last month
A troll comes in with 1 post and starts a fight with me by digging up old threads and you side with the guy.
Thats the way I see it
Also I post one thing about Perry and you get smart with me.
No matter what I post you have take the other side ,

Froy your getting me started again. Do I have to bring up DDY’s free concert in Chicago this summer and how poor the attendance was? Now he is playing another FREE show in the Chicago area this weekend. Styx will be play in Chicago next Friday to a full house of paying customers and I will be there! The only reason I am going to see DDY on Sunday is because it’s free, it's very close to my house, and I would like to meet some of the people from the board. I am very much looking forward to the new Styx CD next year. :D

On a side note if any of you are fans of Elton John’s music from 1970 to 1977 you will like his new CD. I heard it this week and think it’s his best work in many years. It will be out on 9/19/06.

Hows this
Your right the Dennis show at the taste was crap
The crowd sucked and there was about 2000 people there
Blame Tim Orchard his manager for the slew of bad shows
Also you can thank him for the good ones.

Dennis and STYX are done
There acts have not changed in years
Both just playing the same songs and cracking the same jokes
Its a broken record for both of them

If Dennis is going to continue he must redo his show
Plain and simple
He should put out a new cd and promote it
Instead he is trying to compete with STYX by doing as many shows as possible

The Taste of Chicago show was a disgrace
One of the worst Dennis shows I have ever been to
Only because its the same show he has been doing for years,
The best song of the show was Edge of The Century

I hope you enjoy the free show this weekend but keep it between the six that are going.

Well not really... and I'm not one to stick up for Froy believe me. I've had my issues with him in the past. But there are a LOT of negative people in this forum. Even I am this way from time to time. To send a veiled threat of a ban based on the opinions of someone is SO out of character for you because I can think of a lot of people in this forum alone (say NOTHING of the Journey forum) who are just as deserving or even more so based on the negitivity of their posts. Thats all I was trying to bring to your attention.

If you're not reading negative reviews of Journey, then you're not looking hard enough. Nashville rock radio absolutely slaughtered them when they came through here. (they also had high praise for Def Leppard I might add).
