Shaw Blades - january 07

Postby styxfanNH » Sat Sep 02, 2006 12:38 am

Next to Shaw / Blades - good news and bad news folks! There is a deal in place for the release and there was a planned release date of October, but due to the plethora of other rock titles due during October, the boys and their record label decided to postpone the release until January 2007.
The album will be released via VH1 Classics.
Jack and Tommy even got as far as starting to book dates for an acoustic tour for October, but will now head out on the road for a series of dates to support the album's release from January 2007 through March 2007.
Shaw / Blades will also play Alice Cooper's annual Christmas Pudding concert in December in Phoenix, Arizona. Incidentally, Michael Lardie is planning to move to Phoenix shortly.

I could care less about another Damn Yankees CD, I've been waiting for the next Shaw/Blades CD since the first one came out. I remember when the guys use to go around ot various radio stations and play a few tracks off the Cd, then play a few live tracks and had a hell of a time doing them every morning or two. I still like to listen to the first CD all the way through, as I don't think there's a bad song on it.

The new S/B covers CD is suspect. If I'm still awake half way through, it'll be a miracle!

A few interesting song choices, but I'm getting weary of the whole covers album trend in general. Would have much preferred an all-original follow-up to Hallucination, which for my money is still the best album Tommy Shaw has ever been involved with.

... because it is more who Tommy is than anything he's done in Styx, DY, or solo. He sounds right at home on that one.
