I will agree with Froy to an extent

I read this board every day and very rarely post just to the fact I cant be bothered to get involved most of the time.

I feel i have to contribute on this.

Yes Dennis and Styx need a change.

DDY NEEDS to get his CD out. I admire that he has slightly changed the format of his shows over the years. Lost treasures being one i would have liked to have seen, but him and styx are doing the same old all the time. DDY needs to stick with the lost treasures thing a bit more in a bid to keep him fresh and styx need to overhaul their playlist for the same reason, lets assume that both acts have there 'staple songs' that will always be in the set but to me that is the main problem. whatever camp you are in DDY, Tommy, Jy etc are all playing at the top of their game. Look at the well of songs both have access to.

Bit worried that Tommy hasnt posted much on styxworld over the past few months. I've got a feeling that for an accumilation of reasons that we wont be seeing much of DDY or styx after 2007/early 2008

I am a fan of the current styx, old styx, dennis, tommy, jy, infact everyone. I wish them all the best in what they do, but they need to turn an ear to listen to what fans they have left if they want to carry on.

The novelty of dennis solo, styx without dennis and being more straightforard rock has been the reason for people saying 'hey lets go and see ddy/styx i wonder what that is like" that novelty has now worn off.
Here in Styxworld life is good and everything is cool!!!!

I'm curious - where is this public CLAMORING for a new DDY album. You have the rantings of a few on here that DDY will never release an album or what not - but really.... is the music world hanging on Dennis releasing a new album? Should he be burning the midnight oil every night just to put out an album? For what purpose? Because of this, Dennis likely feels he has an opportunity to put his best foot forward, continue to write and experiment with different sounds and different songs and then select the best songs from the group he's written and not just the first ten he's put to tape. THAT is what DDY needs to do. His album needs to be something of quality and something he's happy with. I don't understand how Dennis **NEEDS** to release a new album. Sure - I *want* him to release something soon. But I've waited a long time for a new album. I'm willing to wait another 9-12 months if it means he's proud of it and is able to get the kind of promotion he needs to make it work.

I think that in an information age, we rely too much on our artists communicating with us directly - when the facts are that regardless of that communication they will live their lives on their schedules. If the internet has actually pressured artists to release albums of sub-par quality because their fants deceived them with their "bathwater drinking" desires and not the best interests of the artist, then all you have in the end is a watered down recording that makes nobody happy.

Get off Dennis. He's writing... he's recording... he's touring..... what the hell else does he have to do to make people happy? (the same could be said of Styx)

What I say is correct.

No - your wrong Froy - it's because we don't care about what you say.

Ash there about 10 people on this board that want something from Dennis, that is the outcry.

Actually, I think that many of us just want to hear Dennis do something. He has a gift that many of us want to hear again. I know he doesn't want to do it, but I'd take another "10 On..." he can pick the subject or era. His voice is a great thing and we haven't heard enough of it.
