Well since this is a reading board, I guess the appeal would fall into more of the 'between the ears' variety as opposed to between something else....

I've been kinda with ya Zan... too busy to care much really. Nothing really new going on for now. Have some fun and perhaps I'll see you in Burtnikville - even though I absolutely HATE the design of that forum now.

I'm pretty sure most of the people (myself included) are just tired of rehashing the same old same old.

Besides which I have several other areas of my life which are truly much more important than here.

But I will throw this question out for those that remain...

Does it seem that both Styx and Dennis are now basically resting on their considerable laurels? By that I mean...each appears to be doing what they want and not necessarily catering to fans or the music industry. They seem to be adopting pet projects that appeal to them. I think that's as it should be. I also think it means they are winding down their careers (also as it should be). Time stands still for no one.

Peace

Well I don't know that I agree with this. I know for an absolute fact that Dennis is writing and recording some very good music, and he's touring and appearing on TV shows and working quite a lot. Styx is touring constantly and apparently working on new stuff including releasing this new album

There's new stuff all the time. Just not a lot of new music as yet.

I'm well aware that Dennis has been/is working on writing and touring. And I am sure it is good. That he is working a lot is not necessarily new.

And I am also aware that Styx will be gearing up to promote the new cd.

What I am saying is that while they are all "busy", I think they are no longer concerned with appeasing fans, but rather picking projects that interest them. Nothing wrong with that. I just see that as a wind down. They can and are taking their time. Sure they are all playing concerts (be they public, free, corporate...whatever). I just don't see that as being as big a drive as it once was.

Peace

I see both Styx and Dennis as working in their comfort zones now. Also working while there is work out there for them. Dennis always says how lucky he is that he gets to "sing for his supper."

As long as the touring pays in positive numbers and as long as there are people who will go to the concerts, I think these guys have music/entertaining in their DNA and will not stop until the have to.

As to this board. We had a lot of fun at times on here, but that seems to be a rarity lately. I think the fans of Dennis are enthusiastic about what he is doing and the fans of Current Styx are enthusiastic about what they are doing, but we have all been there, done that as far as discussion goes.

I visit, read and post occasionally, but not as often as I used to. I will say that meeting several people who frequent this board have been some of the high points of my life and I am very grateful for that.

Many of you make me laugh here and I hope you continue to do so.

Thanks, Yogs! :D

I honestly do not know how these guys can SING like they do. When I listen to Dennis' amazing voice, even at the end of a 2+ hour show, I wonder how the hell he does it!
