Cyclorama isn't aging well with me, so while I'm certainly curious to hear it, I don't expect the second coming of GI or Po8. I don't even expect something close. I'd prefer Ambition II to Cyclorama II if you catch my drift ..

Uncle Ted I'm pretty sure isn't happy with him after the latest DY debacle.
AOR rules wrote:I do realise that the new Styx record will not be as good as their classic records but how tiny little record-collections we would have if we bought from all bands we like only their classic records which means maximum 5 records per band (OK, in Styx´s case there is 6 of them if you count studio albums from Equinox to Paradise Theatre). I think there is always room for another not-classic-but-good Styx album.

This can't be farther from the truth. There is absolutely no bad blood between Ted and Tommy. If yo remember - Ted was even on 7DS for Tommy - and that was after the problems with the third DY album. Tommy was wrapped up contractually with Styx - Ted and Jack knew it. Anyone who knows Ted will tell you that he is EXTREMELY smart when looking at music as a business - and can squeeze every dime out of it (he learned from being burned in the past). Why do you think that he did Supergroup in VH1? To keep his name out there and they paid him pretty well to do it. He looks at his Damn Yankees bandmates the same way - if they can make more money doing something else - he has no problem with it.
This isn't speculation - it's fact - I know the man pretty well. As for DY - well maybe at the end of 07 - but who knows? The stars must align.

I like both of the new songs that I’ve heard so far. Although I really don’t expect either on of them to be on the new CD. They will be on the CYO show coming out in November. Mr. Johnson is not a song. It was only a warm up while they were in the studio in Chicago. Todd said there are no plans to release it.

So let me get this straight: "She Cares" isn't lame but "The Best of Times" is? "Boat on the River" vs. "Babe"? It wasn't DDY only writing those kinds of softer/lighter/different songs post-GI. Hell, "Sing for the Day" ain't exactly AC/DC!

I heard through pretty reliable sources Ted was none too happy with TS around that 1999 debacle. Tommy was waffling on his commitment to DY (remember that it was first announced w/o Tommy and Michael; it was Jack, Ted, Damon, and Kelly) and finally committed to Styx full time. We're not talking "let's jam and see what happens" - they did an album, promo photo shoot (remember those postings on the Styx site?) ... and then bam, no DY. If you truly believe it's differences in how the album was recorded, it's naive.
By not happy, I meant the business thing. I don't think Ted gives two shits about the other stuff. Are any of these guys truly best buds? Maybe Jack and Tommy. Like you I can see Ted absolutely working with Tommy again if the money and situation is right. He knows that DY could do OK. So I 100% agree with you on Ted - he's shrewd and extremely intelligent. He'll do what he feels is right.

I'd wager Tommy and Ted still get along outside of their business relationship which is interesting considering Tommy's quasi-vegetarian status.

It's all about convenience. 1999 was 1999. They can clearly get beyond it.
I just don't think Ted trusts Tommy in a business capacity more than a hill of beans.
