All I can say is THANK GOD FOR NURSES! My wife just gave birth to our first child, and ALL of the nurses were AMAZING people. The doctors get all the glory and all the money (and incidentally, my father in law is a surgeon, and I tell him this ALL the time!), but the nurses do all the work and make it all happen. What would we ever do without nurses! Some of them are even easy on the eyes :D

Thank you John for the kind words. It's comments like this that make my job worthwhile. There is nothing better than helping a mom give birth, whether it's her first or her tenth. After nearly ten years, I still get a little choked up at nearly every delivery that I help with.

To be fair to the doctors, nurses do a lot of the standard and routine care but if there are problems we are sure glad that we have the expertise of the doctors there and that's what you pay for when you pay the doctors.

I agree. The nurses do the dirty work but when comes down to it, it's nice to know that there's someone else making the *hard* decisions for us. Although when you've done a certain type of nursing as long as we have it starts to get to the point where we are telling the doctors what they need to order for the patients. Plus there are days when I figure I could do a circumcision as well as the doc. LOL

Chiming in as another nurse, definately would rather NOT be the one making the big decisions the MD's do, lol.

Had to laugh about the circ comment Chickpea, lol. Can't say how many babies I've strapped down for circs in the last 13 years, but I'd rather it stay that way & NOT be doing the circ! ICK!!! lol

Yeah, we all have those MD/DO's that have to have their hand held for everything, but then there are other that are just dynamite. I work with some of both. And I know that I could do a circ better than lots of our docs and I know that I could manage a shoulder dystocia better than a few of the docs but I usually just have to talk them through it!

I guess I could actually say something about my husband. After 24 years, I can't imagine being with anyone else. He still makes my heart pitty-pat.

On a melodic rock website, on a forum about the rock band, Journey :?:
I see u spare no expense in showing ur love for ur man.
Hopefully, come Valentine's day he'll return the favor and give u a bouquet of cow chips.

Last night (actually this morning at 1:00) when I got home he was awake and waiting for me, and had a bubble bath waiting for me. He had turned on my electric blanket so my bed was nice and warm (it's cold here!). When I got out of the tub he brought me a warm towel and my jammies and tucked me in.

And I fell asleep on the La-Z-boy with porn on and my cum spigot still clenched in my fist.
Did I start a thread about it?
Fuck no!

I woke up at about 8:00 am for a while then fell asleep and didn't wake up again until 3:30 pm. When I told him sorry for sleeping so late he just responded "it's OK, you needed it."
What a man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Boy, that officially does it.
This forum has gone to the dogs.

i notice that some of the "men" here have such a lack of respect for the women here... or women in general. i doubt they would say such things in real life... face to face. little boys hiding behind the internet... wimpy fucktards. i hope these guys don't have daughters... geez maybe they shouldn't breed at all. woof.

I don't condone disrespect towards women but take a look at the way men, especially husbands, are portrayed on television and tell me that men aren't disrespected in general. "Everybody Loves Raymond" is a classic example.

I don't think people are getting the morals from TV, in this case. I think it's more like the shows that portray men in this way are getting their morals from people in general.

but it's tv... it's not real. what is said here is real. why some feel the need to purposely try to hurt someones feelings is beyond me. it's nice to know that people are fighting & dying so we are free to be total assholes... treat eachother like sheeit. }:C)

Being as Hubby is off work today and
I am off duty till dinner needs to be prepared
I was wondering how long you all have been with
your spouses/engaged before you chained
yourself to your significant other for life?

I lived with hubby for just over a year before
we got hitched.
He proposed in the pouring rain at the
southern most tip of the Canada (look it up  )
and we were married three and a half weeks later.
I'll be 15 years in April.
