Depending on where you go it's kind of typical to have a sense of euphoria like that - especially if you're a bad-ass American military person like yourself!

I've never been there but until just now have only ever heard bad things. Besides yourself I've never known anyone outside the military that's been there. Obviously, it's not real appealing to plain old tourists! Probably for good reason.

I haven't got the Talisman 7 CD in its entirety yet (bought too much lately) but I plan to. What I've heard of it I'm totally enamoured with tho. It's the best thing I've heard in years. I can't wait to get it & spin the hell out of it. I can't believe anyone would say it's boring. No hooks Yulog? Sorry. To me, u have no taste. I like what I've heard & liked it right away.

Generations...bored the hell out of me the first time. I loved A Better Life. Played it over & over & over & over. My husband burned it for a CD for the car right away. The other tracks...left me seriously wanting. I finally decided I like Faith In The Heartland but it took a while. It sounded at first like they were just trying too hard to remake a classic. All the other tracks might as well not be there IMHO.

No comparison between Generations & Talisman 7. The first is rushed thrown together junk w/a couple of good songs. The latter is a polished well produced piece that obviously took time & had thought put into both the lyrics & music.

WOW! Here i am a Journey fan but i have no TASTE. So your telling me i'm wrong about Journey as well .Thats a pretty big contradiction from your comments about me,dont you think? Did you think before you wrote them or did you just let your emotions fly."Gee, i told this guy that he doesnt have any taste in music but he loves Journey so i guess Journey sucks as well ."
Please think before you post next time you will not look as silly as you do now.

According to ur posts, Generations is brilliant & Talisman 7 is boring & lacks hooks.

Ur Journey fandom is centered around Generations as u have implied in the past, so yes, I still think u have no taste & no, that's not a contradiction. Yes, I did think before I wrote that.

Generations is by far the worst of Journey's offerings. Obviously, judging by sales, I'm not the only Journey fan who thinks that either.

I don't think I look silly at all. Perhaps u should look in the mirror tho & think about what u wrote here.

Someone needs to help you read-never said generations was brilliant -you did-----i did say talisman 7 is boring and hookless compared to "fire in the night"

I never have stated i'm a fan because of generations(you went off your meds again didn't you)

Generations would be their weakest effort since Perry came on the scene. I never said anything that contradicts that in any way.

When you are wrong, you are wrong. You have just got to swallow your pride and admit to it.

After giving Hugo's 'Fire In The Night' CD a few recent spins I must admit that my first public assessment of this CD was incorrect.

The CD is starting to grow on me. Some of his songs are strong. His voice was never the question for me. The music that he played was. I was wrong. Some of this material is damn good!

It is now getting equal play along with my new Talisman & MS Funk CD's.

I am also waiting the arrival of Benjamin Orr's 'The Lace' CD. It just got rereleased. I hope it arrives today.

I had not purchased a new CD in close to 6 months, and now Ive got all this new music to listen to.

With 2+ hours of driving each day, I get to listen to plenty of music.

I will categorize Hugo's CD in the new list even though I purchased it over a year ago. I guess I just didnt give it a fair shot back then.

I must thank Aaron for pointing this out to me.

Now if I only did'nt dumpster my Generations CD!!!!

Yogi, i had cds like that where you listen and go WTF and then after listening again they start to click, not many but a few of them are that way--that Hugo is talented , great hooks ,catchy chorus, the good thing is, since he wont be with Journey then we get a Journey cd and a Hugo cd. I felt the same way when Augeri was with the band. For me, Hugo's cd hands down beats out Generations-although there is stuff on generations i like --the flow of thecd is all over the place.

Fuck Hugo. Literally. Anyone who NEEDS to emulate another, is simply paying homage to THAT individual (in this case perry) and the music (Journey).

Fuck ANYONE here who doesn't think Neal fucking Schon and Jeff Scott Fucking Soto have serious writing skills and oh yeah, throw THE FRIG into the mix and there isn't any band out there that can write like those guys.

Let's get it on tonight.

I am the asshole that went to great measures to affect change, change happened, for the better, and here we are, and a few piss fucks (froy, Ms Monker and Bambi) are all c*unts....while the same old Loons are still bloody snatched bitches, now bitch about said change.

You fuckers can all just hop the fence and go cheer on Styx.

You all want to take me on tonight, bring it.

Hey, I like Styx, and I like Journey. By the way, how come you always talk to people so mean? Someone kick your cat? Anyway, have a good week. Life is too short. :-)

Yogi,

Thanks for the post mate. Again, sorry for being a bit aggressive in the previous posts. If I were to categorize Hugo's stuff I'd put Valentine up front, followed by Hugo (S/T) and Time On Earth. If you don't have these discs I'd recommend you get them. Hugo was so much more than a tribute singer before he started Evolution.

Cheers mate,

Aaron

You've riled me up and I've had enough. Any fucker on this board that thinks Hugo doesn't' blow Journey away in writing talent or vocal talent is a non-hearing, tone-deaf, no music playing bastard. Hugo has more writing talent and vocal skills talent in the end of his dick than Journey has had since 86. Trial By Fire fuckin sucked. It was an adult contemporary gay record with shite on it besides one decent ballad (WYLAW). I was pissed when I heard that cd for the first 10 times. It was shite. Augi did a good job on Arrival. Generations was a friggin hodge podge of vocal bullshit. Red13 sucked. Valentine was every bit as good as Escape in song writing, music and vocal capability. If any of Hugo's shit would have been released under the "Journey" brand it would have outsold anything since ROR. Adam Holland is an excellent guitarist and can hold his own with about anyone. He has a different style than Schon but I'd argue his power chord playing ass rocks harder.

JSS has improved tremendously in the last few months in the live environment. After several months, he is capable of doing a reasonable job of covering the classic Journey material. He was given a lot of praise here when he was still singing like shit on classic Journey and I have no time for that. However, Hugo has demonstrated his ability to write, sing and deliver music as good as Journey has ever produced. Hugo has taken a shit rap for looking to much like Perry. WHO GIVES A FUCK! The dude can write, sing and deliver hard rockin, kick ass material.

Neil Schon, pull your head out of your ass, color Hugo's hair blond, write a new record that actually rocks (like you've been blowing shit about for 10 fuckin years), and then go out there and take over the rock and roll world.

Damn!

Aaron

Say hello to your brother Hugo for us! For the record, I don't think Hugo has "taken a shit rap" for looking like Perry. That's never been the issue for me. Just naturally looking like someone is something that happens in life. This fucking dude stole Perry's DNA. I've watched the guy perfor and he even wears "costumes" that look like Perry's clothes from the 80's and even mimics Perry with the way he moves. For me personally...I don't care how talented anyone is on a vocal level, if they're making a concerted effort to copy someone as much as this guy does with Perry. Honestly, I have always found it creepy. The guy needs to find his own identity.

As for your contention that Schon should bring this guy into Journey...are you fucking nuts??? Schon will NEVER escape the ENORMOUS shadow that was cast by Perry, even with a guy who looks and sounds nothing like Perry, fronting this band, and you seriously think he wants to bring in a "celebrity impersonator" to exacerbate an already impossible situation for him?

By the way Aaron...Just because someone doesn't share your taste in music doesn't mean they're a "non-hearing, tone-deaf, no music playing bastard"! I certainly respect your opinion (even though I don't agree with it), so have a little respect for those who think Hugo is a sorry-ass Perry wanna be :)
