Turbo - Judas Priest......one 'queen' to another!

I listened to some Seventh Wonder a couple of days ago Tali - don't think it was the one you said though.....but it was very good.

yeah...they have two albums...the other one (their debut) is called Become. Waiting in the Wings has a different singer and they have jumped lightyears in the space of one album.

I don't have an AOTW this week. But I'll let you pick one of the new latest additions that will get plenty of spins before the week is out. Lunatica "The Edge of Infinity", or Shiva "The Curse of the Gift."

Images and Words - Dream Theater......sometimes one forgets just how fucking good these guys are, and how good this album is.

Watched Dream Theater on DVD a couple of weeks ago... I was taken with a song that apparently was on the first CD (which I still must get around to listen to  ). Afterlife, very catchy riff.

My AOTW is Avalon - The Final Move. They are from the area where I was born and their music reminds me of things that were so great about my teen years. Discovering wonderful music, discovering life and love... They also played at the first rock festival I was ever allowed to go to. Got me hooked for life.

My AOTW is Luca Turilli "Prophet of the Last Eclipse." This guy is spaztic! He uses everyone, everything, every style, all speeds from fast and faster, and somehow ties it in into cheesy power metal. I love it!

I'm sticking to Peter Frampton's Comes Alive II for this week. After all, it's bene on "heavy" rotation this week.

The Sign - Signs of Life. Excellent vocals on catchy and interesting songs. Progressive AOR is how I would describe it.

I've been listening to a little too much metal, so I've turned to a slightly lighter rock side for this week. My AOTW goes to Vinny Burns "The Journey." A decent blend of Ten-style rockers and Dare-style AOR tracks.

Good call Jonny, did you ever get the next cd by Vinny Burns with Sam Blue.
Anyway, my ATOW is "Supersonic" by Australia's own Square One.

It was on my to-buy list at one point...there were a lot of good albums that year as I recall, so for some reason it got pushed to the back-burner.

While I was crawling along at a snail's pace in Amsterdam's rush hour I was reminded by the radio of Toto's Absolutely Live. They were playing a version of 99 that I thought I didn't know... After rummaging through the CD vault I found it again. :)

Really?

Might not be your cup of tea...but i like a bit of well played death metal every now and then...gotta love the tales of the viking lifestyle they sing of too

eg

Blood gushes from the wound
The cut is wide and deep
And before I turn around
He falls to his knees

A clear song rings in the blade
When steel meets hardened steel
I hear the sound of wood that breaks
A sword cuts through my shield

I drop the shield and grab my axe
A weapon in each fist
The first blow makes the helmet crack
The axe cut to the teeth

I rip the axe from the head
Covered in blood and brains
Leave the body lying dead
Ready to strike again

My sword cuts through clothes and skin
Like a hot knife cuts through snow
I smile ad the bastard screams
When I twist my sword

Sword in my hand
Axe on my side
Valhall awaits me
Soon I will die
Bear skin on my back
Wolf jaw on my head
Valhall awaits me
When I'm dead

I raise my axe above my head
My eyes stare in furious rage
Yet more blood will be shed
This is a victorious day

Blood gushes from the wound
The cut is wide and deep
And before I turn around
I falls to my knees

Sword in my hand
Axe on my side
Valhall awaits me
Soon I will die
Bear skin on my back
Wolf jaw on my head
Valhall awaits me
When I'm dead

AOTW is To-Mera "Transcendential." Probably the most original band I've listened to since Ayreon. The only way to describe it is Progressive Goth.
