Tommy Shaw: Santa

Postby styxdudebrandon » Thu Dec 28, 2006 2:57 pm

Found this article on the net:

STYX rocker TOMMY SHAW turns from SCROOGE to good guy every Christmas
as he helps deliver toys to children of abused women. The COME SAIL
AWAY star admits he's a cynic but his annual trip to House of Ruth
shelters melts his heart. He says, "Every year we load up an SUV with
as many gifts as we can for each one of the kids and their mothers.
Each one is in charge of a bag full of Christmas presents and we're
Santas' helpers wearing the Santa hat. "It's the best day of my year.
This charity helps the battered mums get back on their feet and gives
them a roof over their head. "The little kids are so sweet and they
still believe in Santa Claus. They got their little Christmas outfits
on and their hair combed and they're so well behaved. "It's just very
sweet for a cynical old rock bastard like me. It cleans my clock once a
year."

I think it was a good gesture. Period. I think at times some get wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too hung up on what copy writers put on paper.

Just accept the good deed and move on.

Can you imagine if it was JY who was referred to as the "Come Sail Away star"? He'd probably wind up suing himself somehow.

Of course, JY has no problem using That Other Doofus' songs when it benefits him...all the while claiming that those very songs are "cringe-inducing."

Honest to God, this is really getting old. If all you have to offer is that "JY"'s attourneys issued the ceast and desist order on Styxnet, then it's time to move on.

And Tommy didn't write the fucking article, he was mentioned in it.

I wonder if it is because of Jy's interviews towards DDY and making the rest of the band seem like bad guys. The only way to counter that is to attach Jy back with some of the stupid things he has done.

He didn't write the article dude...
Does everything have to be about Deyoung????

I think it's a pretty friggin' cool thing for Shaw to do and the fact that somebody would turn it into a shaw vs. deyoung thing is pretty friggin' sad. Speaking of SCROOGE...

Do you really think JY reads this message board or that anyone that posts here doesn't know what JY says?

Yeah, JY thinks Gowan is a better keyboard player, JY thinks DDY wasn't sick, JY hates songs like Babe, JY tries to protect the Styx name through the courts, JY contributes the least of the three principle writers, yada yada yada. We all get it. Some here have a tougher time getting over the split than JY does. It's time to move on. If all you have to contribute is that JY is an ass, you're not contributing much. We already know that.

I find it interesting that an article describing an act of generosity by a member of the band can be turned into something else entirely by a bitter few. I think the term "loser" would be an excellent way to describe those who would disrupt what was intended to be a nice holiday story.

Get over it dorks.
