Realistically, even though I liked Rocky V, you don’t have to see it to appreciate the new movie. Not much of “V’ is even acknowledged in the “RB”. JUST GO LARRY!

You folks are sick! I like that.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Huh? anyway, Larry...go see it...you don't have to see the others to see this one, but being a fan of any of them helps of course. I applaud Stallone for working in some really great messages into the movie. Don't want to ruin it for anyone, but he is obviously a animal lover and I think its wonderful he gave a shout out to the animal shelter, he has a lot of good old fashioned ideals in there!!!

When it comes down to it, this movie makes you appreciate Sly and his work and how much you really love the charactor of Rocky Balboa.

We agree that it was very good, grades about a B-.

I give it a B+, he had to work out and act and direct this movie all at the same time. I liked it, well done. 8)

Plus he wrote it.

I liked this film a lot. Great heart to it. I would have liked a knock out in the end, but other than that, a really great movie! 8)

I liked it better on the second viewing. My wife and I just watched it again this morning. It's a good flick.

The ending made a lot of sense actually.

Good stuff, as per usual, Lar. 8)

You gotta rent 5, too. It's kinda like Rocky 2 1/2 NOTHING like 3-4. Some Hoke, but a lot of good back to Rock basics old school stuff in there with "The neighborhood," the leg breaker look stuff like that.

My husband took our boys to see it this past weekend. They all loved it but all commented on how bizarre Stallone looks now. :p

Hey Larry, did you notice all of the people running up the steps during the closing credts who were wearing Eagles apparel? (as well as Phillies and Flyers stuff) I know it made me warm and fuzzy! As Jimmy Johnson once said, “How about them Cowboys?” :D

For sure, I am going to see it when it comes out down under - I think the 7th of Jan, so still abit of a wait. But it looks amazing from the previews, seems like the best Rocky for a long time.

Yeah, and as talented as Stalone is, he was just so good at Rocky and Rambo that he was never able to be taken seriously for anything else.

Good line

Little Marie: "His father's from Jamaica."

Rocky: "Hm. Jamaica. European, huh?"

Moose, how about the scene where the first real positive thing happens for Rock in the match and they flash to the local bar in Philly watching it on PPV and the place is just going nuclear??? 8)

I don't completely agree with this review, but there is some truth in it.

Most people were expecting an epic train wreck and ended up being pleasantly surprised (and relieved) that it wasn't an epic train wreck. That's going to artificially skew any opinion, right? I just can't shake the feeling that everyone who liked the movie was inadvertently grading it on a pronounced curve.

For instance, let's say you have an uncle who became involved with a former stripper who cheated on him, became addicted to crystal meth, kept stealing from him and eventually bankrupted him before she was arrested for trying to run him over with a car. It was such a bad experience that he didn't date anyone else for five years and he's been in therapy the entire time. Then he announces to the family that he's showing up for Christmas with his new girlfriend ... and everyone in the family is completely terrified because he's had such horrible taste with women. What happens? He shows up with a nice enough girl who's friendly and really seems to like him. Maybe she's a C-plus under normal circumstances, but given your uncle's history, she feels like an A-minus and nobody can stop talking about how nice she is. And that's what happened with this last Rocky movie. If "Rocky V" was the crystal meth stripper, then "Rocky Balboa" was the C-plus girlfriend who felt like an A-minus.

V is a mighty popular whipping boy but I still say it's more Rockyesque than the comic book III and the blink and you miss it Get Fit video that is IV. Those...eh, I can only watch 'em like once every 8 days. :P

The sour reviews that have been given to RB seem to be from younger generation types who only appreciate the MTV style approach of III and IV. Lacking in depth, superficial to the max.

IV was the worst IMO. The whole USA vs. Russia thing was hokey at best. Killing off Apollo Creed was a bad idea too.
