And Deyoung was on Duets, a show for hasbeens????
Whatever. I thought he looked foolish on that show. Like an old man. "All over VH1"?
Your definition of All Over is pretty broad.

Canadian Idol (or whatever)- yeah, that was cool. But Barry Manilow was all over American Idol.
I guess that would make him more successful than Styx or Dennis. Thank you, but I'll take a rock
band over a BM anytime.

On the Journey thing, that COULD be right (the tape deal) But it could also be that two primadona bands do not a good touring experience make.
I just don't want to see Styx with REO. THAT is a band I can't stand.

Just as the arm pin wheels that the men in the band have done. Over the top. It's all a matter of perception. DeYoung got great reviews from that performance, just as Styx did for some things.

I will never fully understand the need by people here to continue to bash. Each has their flaws, each has their strong points. Nobody put a gun to anyone's head to watch or listen to anything. One wonders at times how any of us came to enjoy the band given our commentaries over the last few years (myself included).

yeah, you're right Sadie. I just feel the need to defend Styx for moving on and doing what they wanted rather than what ONE guy in the band wanted.
You're right.

You'd get no argument from me about the band doing what it wants. And while DeYoung certainly exerted a lot of will....no one put a gun to the men's heads to make them go along either. Seems to me they did fine while they were popular. It certainly allowed them to do as they wish now. It bears repeating. Each has their flaws, and each has their strengths. Enjoy who you enjoy, and allow others to do the same.

Peace

You're right sadie, both DDY and Styx has there flaws. We all have our flaws as well. Mine is I don't know when to stop, and I keep pushing and pushing. I guess the start of the thread about Styx and a new lead singer got to me and I got out of control.

I appologize if I got out of hand.

That would depend on the rock band, and he was and IS more successful than Styx or Dennis.

maybe, but I can't stand him and would never spend money on his records. If I want to hear Barry Manilow, I'll look no further than a State Farm television commercial.

I've seen him 4 times live. He seems to have fewer issues than Styx or Dennis too. LOL ;-)

The Manilow involvement there is no doubt due to Idol's Clive Davis connection....
