I'll be going to see Styx a week from today!!! I've searched and cannot find a setlist, can you guys help me out? Just wanted a general idea of what to expect. I have not seen Styx since 1979. I'll be glad to report back with a review after the concert if you want. Thanks!

Well, in some aspects, it'll be similar in that it's very much a rock show through and through. They don't play ballads so much in concert anymore these days, which became an integral part of their shows from the early eighties to the mid-nineties. However, you might notice there have been a few "staff changes" that have taken place since then. LOL

JY's still buying, however. ;-)

Oh, and Todd Sucherman rocks. Worth the price of admission alone.

I'm sure you'll have a great time. Keep us posted.

This is the set list from the CYO. You can pretty much go by it. There might be a few different songs thrown in. You may or may not hear "Come Sail Away:, "Lady", or "Babe", "Grand Illusion", "Roboto", or any other Dennis Deyoung songs. You might get "Lorelie" by Jy. You also may get what they call the melody, which is several short clips of songs mixed together.

Blue Collar Man (Long Nights)
One With Everything
It Don't Make Sense (You Can't Make Peace)
I Am the Walrus
Just Be
Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man)
A Criminal Mind
Everything All the Time
Too Much Time On My Hands
Crystal Ball
Miss America
Boat On the River
Renegade

Hope this helps.

You always get "Grand Illusion", "Lady", and "Come Sail Away" at Styx shows. Those are the only 3 DDY tracks they do in full and have since 1999. I've never seen a Styx show post-1999 without them.

I think I've seen a few without Grand Illusion, but they definitely play the other two every time.

"Grand Illusion" should be one of the first 3 songs, lady 1st 3rd or by half time, and CSA usually ends the regular set.

Usually that is the case, yes. But I am pretty sure I *have* been to shows where it wasn't played at all. Wanna argue about it? ;-)

Thanks! Quite honestly I will not miss any of those sappy DDY songs, with the exception of Lady, which I don't really think is sappy like Babe is. I am there for Tommy anyway. I try to keep an open mind about the band changes, have seen several classic rock groups with changes, while it will never be the same as the original, I have never been disappointed. Man, I would love to hear Boat on the River.......this venue is actually a big country bar called Wild Bills. I have been dragged there a couple times due to friends birthdays, and vowed never to step foot in there again, I just don't enjoy country; but this is Styx. I think the place holds a few thousand people at most. I was surprised they were playing there actually, but that's a whole other discussion about the groups of yesteryear playing for smaller audiences, etc.
