was watching tv the other day and a commercial for TUBE TV came on,, starting with .. silence.. and then I SHOULD HAVE BEEN GONE.........KNOWING HOW I ....... i have to say ,, it was mighty cool,,, the retro thing is back and the younger folks are learning our old vibe.. id love to be able to prove its still groovy.. with some new music ,, in separte corners anyway....

I think what people want is this. As fans, and great ones at that, we spent a great deal of our lives following Journey. We did it by buying albums, t-shirts, bumper stickers, calling radio stations and most importantly putting the music made by any one of many incarnations, CLOSE to our hearts. That music was there during a lot of our important years. Many of us supported the band unconditionally. Then, the voice of many of those years and songs, disappeared. Is there a bit of selfishness in a lot of us wanting to hear Steve Perry again? Absolutely. BUT, there's a lot of love there too, and even some concern. Personally, I wish him nothing but the best, but I won't lie....my selfish side DOES want more music. Ideally, he WANTS to record again and everyone wins. And to Cyndy, I'd venture to guess that the previous poster DIDN'T put his/her life on hold waiting for him. The terms used were only meant to show just HOW MUCH he IS missed by some. Nothing more.

If you are a fan ...then you are a fan. SP has given more than most people, he has left us with timeless classic music that you never get tired of hearing. If that doesnt satisfy you...oh well find a way to get over it.

Well as many of us know, SP is a perfectionist. He's said that he has hired a voice coach to see what he's got left. I imagine, that if he gets his coaching, and does a recording session and doesn't like what he hears, we may never get it, or even know it happened. However, it does sound lately that SP is a bit more humble than in the past, so he may just say what the hell and publish it anyway. That's what I want. Hell every one of us know that his voice isn't what it used to be, and we couldn't care less, we just want to hear him sing again. I don't care if it is in baritone. Just do something. I hope if he records, it is something rocking like that Guff song.

Cyndy...I think that we all would give anything just to hear him sing again...I know he is a perfectionist as someone else said, but I know his voice is lower, but I don't care....it's his phrasing, his pronunciation and just the sound of his voice that makes us all shutter...WE JUST MISS HIM! and wish he would let us know how he is doing...
God, I'm older than him(only by a few years) and know how your own body gets as it gets older..
How about he just sits in an easy chair with a mic and sings to us....
