Speaking of bogus, lets hear of your sources that have informed you of a DDY led Styx reunion.

They are????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I live just 3 miles from JY you know
Remember that

Seriously? How do you know? Have you seen the house? Is it big?

Not going to happen.

Sorry Froy, but I think the only way Styx will reform with Dennis is if Chuck Panozzo passes on. (I'm not hoping that of course but it's the only way I can see it)

But I'm sure if you read Chuck upcoming book and his take on the Dennis situation I'm sure you'll think it's all lies. (Even though he's known Dennis now for over 40 years)

Dennis's camp doesn't call Chuck "The Judas of Styx" for nothing.

I can see TS and Dennis working together one day, but I can't see Styx with Dennis as early as this summer.

There will be NO 30th Anniversary GI tour with Dennis on board.

Who cares what Chuck Pannazo say's he 's a nobody lucky to even have been in the band at all.
When you think of bass players do you think of Chuck Pannazo?
Not me
Look for
Dennis Glen Tommy JY and Todd real soon
Gowan is gone.

And he is gay....which is a sin..

Oh for crying out loud, that's stupid! What in the world does that have to do with anything?!! You want to talk about sin? We're talking about a rock and roll band here!!! LOL, there's enough "women, whiskey and sin" among these guys to fill a thousand pages if I chose. To try to disparage Chuck because of his sexual preference is absurd. He certainly is not the only member whose private sex life would not measure up to some sort of Puritan Biblical standard. What does that have to do with music or even the politics of the band?

Time to shoot this reunion down..

From Dennis DeYoung's website...
Hey Everybody,

With so many unbelievable things happening to me this past year I have not had the time to put it all into perspective.

First, let me say that Suzanne and I have just celebrated our 37th year of marriage and as has been the case on more than one occasion the celebration took place was while I was performing. (No, not that kind of performing you nasty little buggers, I'm referring to singing and playing piano.) Many times over the years Suzanne has allowed me to put my professional needs over birthdays, anniversaries, holidays and family vacations.

Suzanne, for this I say thanks for always being supportive of me in every way. I have said this before but it bears repeating as to how fortunate I was to meet you and fall in love with you when you were just 15. You are the only girl I have ever loved and I feel lucky to have had you in my life. If there ever was a guy who made the perfect choice for a spouse it's me. Happy anniversary, and here's to 37 more. ( Let's see that will take us into our 90's, egad's!)

From the multi platinum success in Canada, to Star Academy, to Canadian Idol to Celebrity Duets to VH-1's Big IN "06" to countless usage's of my songs in movies and TV, to a Yamaha endorsement, I feel a bit overwhelmed by my good fortune. Never in my wildest dreams did I think such things were possible yet again. Suzanne, Tim, Dianna and I have worked very hard these last four years with little guarantee for success. But hell, a lot people work just as hard and never see results, I know I have been one of them. So to all whom have helped make this possible I send my heartfelt thanks.

To name a few: Paul Jessop, Maurice and George and everyone at DEP. To John Virant and Rounder Records Chris Taylor, Dave Harris, Randy Lennox at Universal, Julie Snyder, John Oshima, Paul Setzer, my band and my LD Matthew DeYoung, my publicist CarrieAnn DeYoung. Also Sujata Murthy, Todd Nakamine, Lori Lousararian, Our sound and road crews and Craig Bauer. Most importantly, to all of you who have come to my concerts and bought the CD and DVD, many thanks!

The threat is real! Yes it's true, I have been recording my first solo rock album since 1888, I mean 1988, and it just feels like 1888. The working title is "Back to the 10 on Desertchild". Just kidding it's actually "The Grand Pieces of Paradise". I have decided to return to my roots and I feel this is my edgiest and rockin'est record ever.(Hell everybody says this same BS don't they?) Truth be told the songs do not suck, and If your interested in a middle aged white guy who can still sing high you just might like it. For more cryptic discussion of this coming "masterpiece," keep an eye on this web site.

Everyone here knows that Froy made this up.

I for one wish that this was NOT fiction.

Maybe one day they can ALL put the bad feelings behind them and get back up on stage together.

What a concert it would be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One night ( but hopefully more ) we all could rejoice in seeing Chuck, Dennis, JY, Tommy, Glen, Todd, Lawerence & Ricky TOGETHER playing the music of STYX.

Like it or not these are the men that have brought to us the music we all here so greatly appreciate and love.

All of them have worn the 'Styx uniform'.

None of us are getting any younger. Lets just hope they do this soon.

If this ever happens, wherever it happens, we all need to meet.

What a party it would be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Money, ego. It's not going to happen anytime soon though. There would have to be a HUGE offer (tour, other) out there for them to put aside long standing ill feelings and bring Dennis back now.

I am curious to hear Dennis' new CD but I'm very sure it will not be anywhere close to what he did with his early work (Come Sail Away, Suite Madame Blue, Queen of Spades, Castle Walls). Not the same band and he is not the same person. I am happy to see he is trying something different than what he has been doing though so I will give it a listen.

If Dennis's new CD does better than the next Styx CD, then we'll see a reconciliation and a crow eating contest.

If Dennis' does well, then can you imagine the pressure Styx will have on it to try to do better than it?

Please don't toy with us Styx fans about such a thing. We would all die to see it and would love to believe it, but the past prevents us from doing that too easily. There is only one thing to do.........

Andrew, is there any reason for us to at least partially believe this rumor, or is pure fiction? Help the sanity of us die-hard Stxy fans!

New guy

Postby cittadeeno23 » Wed Jan 31, 2007 4:53 am

Hey guys, I'm Jimmy. I have been reading your postings for a while and decided to join.
Styx has been my favorite band for my entire life. I purchased Equinox when it came out in 1975 and was blown away. I was 11 and had never heard such incredible vocals from a rock band in my life. I think the band got better when Tommy came aboard. I can't pick a favorite album. It's a 2 way tie between GI and PO8.
I'll come right out and say that my favorite lineup is the one that made them famous.
DDY, TS, JY, CP and JP. I have seen that lineup several times. I have seen EVERY lineup of Styx Since Tommy joined in 1975/75. I never saw John C. in the band live.
I think the current band does put on a great show, but nothing nearly as good as the 1996 Return to Paradise show. Or even the 1997 "20 year anniversary of the GI tour" Those 2 shows, along with the original Paradise Theater show in 1981 are the best concerts I have ever seen. And I have seen a lot of show in my life! I don't dislike Gowen. He is very talented, but he is not Dennis. And I love Dennis because I have loved Styx since the beginning. I know he's not coming back, and I enjoy going to both His shows and Styx shows.
I just want Gowen to stop playing the keyboards backwards (facing away from the keyboards). If he wants to do it during one of his original songs, go for it, but when he does it to Dennis songs, I thing that's dis-respectful. I do like some of his music. I was suprised at how much I liked Cyclorama. It really is a great album. But I think the vocals are so good because of Glen. He really is amazing. His background vocals are awesome.

OK, so let me have it! But I hope we can all be friends!

Thanks for the advice! I don't want to step on any toes, but my guess is that most people who do not like Dennis have not been Styx Fans since the beginning. But there is nothing wrong with new fans. My daughter is 4 and she knows the Cyclorama album very well!

Anyway, I'm just here to talk about Styx.
It's never going to happen, but could you imagine how great the background vocals would sound on a new album with a lineup of DDY, Tommy,
Glen Burtnik, JY and Todd?
Do any of you have Glen's solo work? I have a few of his albums. The man can flat out sing.
By the way, I love Chuck also. I met him and John before one of the Edge shows in 1991.
Both very nice, good guys.

Hey, remember that time you...I mean "Dan" emailed me, Dawn-Marie, and Glen about Damn Yankees a few years back?

Or how about when you went demanding a refund for a concert you never saw then backpeddling when it was offered to you by the band themselves? I think you called Keith "Guido." Classic.

Or the time you referred to Kim Christopher, the girl who died of Spina Biffida, as a "retard?"

And all those posts about how Styx fans are nothing but fat, middle-aged housewives...

Oh, and what about that pothead guy on Styxland? He was a lot of fun too.

I still have the phony picture you sent of yourself too. It went along with all the emails telling me about your sexual conquests. This, of course, was during the time you were trying to be my "confidant" to get me tell you all the juicy "insider information" I had (even though I had virtually none, and would have never in a million years given to you if I had).

Oh god, remember when my fiances' brother died, and you sent me that heartfelt email telling me that I was a whore?

ALL brilliant, my friend. Some of us from the old board still laugh at how proud of yourself you were to reveal that Dan never existed and how you have assumed over a two dozen identities in Styxland over the course of time. Like this was something to boast about, or like anyone cared.

When someone like you sarcastically refers to me as a good person, I am honestly relieved.

Oh, by the way, welcome Citta...I'll give you credit enough to learn who is full of shit around here on your own. It shouldn't take long.
