Tommy's dark days

Hi there,

Read that Tommy had some problems with drugs in the 80s. When was this? Around the Paradise Theater era? What kind of drugs?

Came as a bit of a surprise...

Coke from what I heard. From the latter days of Kilroy to after the What If cd. So 83 to 86? Ambition in 87 finally sounded like a good Shaw cd. Girls was ok, and What If was weak, and thoses two were during his drug days-ERIC

Tommy refers to the time period as when he was "self medicating". Definitely during the Kilroy era and for some time after. He now says that he has been drug free for about 10 years, if i remember correctly.

10 years? Does that mean that he was under the influence during the RTP tour? I thought he got clean and sober prior to Ambition which would have been more like 20 years.

When I saw an interview with him during the Ambition tour he said he did rehab to get off drugs before recording Ambition. I could be wrong, but that is what I seem to remember-ERIC

If your trying to ask me where it is written up in some article, no I can't come up with that given that smoking pot thankfully is still an illegal offense in this country and I doubt he is going to announce that to members of the media...

OMG!!! I think Dennis once smoked pot and had a taste of some alcohol sometime in 1971! I can't ever listen to anything that man has to say ever again, he is such a bad person for ever doing that. And to even imagine that Dennis ever did something wrong in his life...oh my gosh...I don't know if I could handle that. Its about TS's hypocrissy - Its one thing to tell the world you are clean and sober and another to really be that way...
