Dude, Styx would not have ever had a hit had it not been for Tommy Shaw. He is an equal to DDY in talent, at the very least.

You mean when Dennis's album goes gold in Quebec (because face it, Quebec is his only REAL market - he might get some airplay out west here, but as for sales, it's in the East) Froy (and sells maybe 50 000 copies in the USA) or do you mean the supposed reunion that you've been blabbering on about now for months?

We want to know Froy!

Sure, Froy, I will concede that like Lennon and McCartney, Plant and Page, and Cobain and Navvaro (NOT!!!!), the greatest songwriters work in tandems. They are much better with each other than apart. I sincerely hope they can bury the guillotine (let's face it, it's much more than a hatchet now) and get Styx back together, in the studio, and on the road again. Otherwise the only time Shaw and DeYoung will meet again ten years down the road will be when they open up for Hasselnof in Stuttgart.

Come on Froy........, Here is what you need to do. Walk out to the carport( be careful of your bell bottoms), pull the Frampton 8 track out of the Gremlin. Shit, get all your 8 tracks. Bring em into your house. Go into your den. Slip that same 8 track(Frampton Comes Alive) into you Sounddesign system. Turn on your lava lamps, then walk to the fridge and grab yourself either a Hamns or a Schmidt and relax !!!!

This afternoon(1pm) the Blackhawks are playing the North Stars. Esposito and Maniago have both been great recently between the pipes. Jude Drouin vs Stan Makita. At 5pm theres a ABA basketball game, and Barnaby Jones comes on tonight at 9.

Its all good!!!!!

They had a hit before Tommy Shaw (Lady) and they had a hit after Tommy Shaw (Show Me The Way). I'm not sure where you get this line of thought with.

Suite Madame Blue was also a huge hit north of the border (and a modest one in the States) and was ALSO pre Tommy Shaw. Tommy's first huge "hits" were with Blue Collar Man and Renegade... on his third album with the band.

Don't get me wrong - Tommy has some great songs before then and I think his stuff from then was timeless - but let us not rewrite history.

I am not a Larry fan I am a Styx fan. Just as I was in 1990 when TS was not in the band and still am today without DDY. Dennis has lost it. It has been many years since he has done anything I like. I don't see that changing. He has lost touch with what made him good a long time ago.

Dennis, I mean, Froy, dude...the sun rose and set before DDY was here, and it will after he's gone. Perspective, dude. Styx needed DDY and Tommy to be what they were, just like Journey needed Neal and SP, the Beatles needed Lennon and McCartney, and Hall & Oates needed...ummmm...Hall. Anyway, you get my point. Life goes on!

I am not a Larry fan I am a Styx fan.

If you were a STYX fan you would be supporting Dennis the founder of the band
You are not a Styx fan by supporting a cover band

Just as I was in 1990 when TS was not in the band

Not the same thing
Tommy was on drugs and had better things to do,

. Dennis has lost it.

Lost what?
He has lost nothing his shows blow cover band STYX shows away
You have lost it , your mind that is.
When Dennis blows you away with his new cd whatca gonna do?

It has been many years since he has done anything I like.

And cover band Styx has done just the ooposite?
Doing cover cds and budget shows are things you like?
You need to learn what music os all about my friend
The Who took 20 years for a new cd and its great did you dump on them?

I don't see that changing.

I don't either because you don't know what good music is
You chase Tommy Shaw around on the couch.,

He has lost touch with what made him good a long time ago.
[/quote]

And cover band Styx hasn't
Look in the mirror man your all messed up.

No it didn't
Without Dennis DeYoung there would be no here,

Styx needed DDY and Tommy to be what they were,

Tommy Shaw has 5 songs worth anything in Styx
JY about the same
He is not in the same league as Dennis
He has alway been jealous of Dennis.
Im sorry its not the Dennis and Tommy act that you try to make it,

just like Journey needed Neal and SP,

No where near the same thing

Anyway, you get my point.

My two cents.

With or without Tommy Shaw Styx would have made it HUGE. When they switched lables ( Wooden Nickle to A&M) it was just a matter of time. Tommy was no where near Equinox and in my opinion it was their best album.

Styx was lucky to find Tommy Shaw.

Tommy Shaw was ten times more lucky that Styx found him.

Dennis Deyoung = Wayne Gretsky / Derek Jeter
Tommy Shaw = Mark Messier/ A Rod
JY = Paul Coffey/ Bernie Williams
Chuck and John were just real good role players

Dennis was the superstar. Tommy was the star. JY was the very good player. Chuck and John were the role players that went along and were GREAT to have on the team.

Thats how I see it.

As for Journey.......... Who the hell is Neal?? Steve Perry was Journey PERIOD!!!!!!

There are a MILLION guys that can play guitar. There is ONLY ONE VOICE!!!!

The guitar is for show, The vocals are for dough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
