I DO think Bono's a good singer. I think Bonjovi stinks these days. MAJOR lip syncher.
They crucified Augeri, how come nobody goes after bonjovi?
You want someone to go after Bon Jovi, here goes . . . . Jon can't sing live for shit!!!!! How about that? He's another really good example of someone who has a great sense of how to put himself across, but is not that musically talented. He's mediocre, but pretty, in my view at least. His fans like him for reasons apart from musical talent.

This topic went off the rails, as usual, but my .02 on the latest topic, Mister Jovi.

I always felt that he was using a "stage" voice for his rock "sound." I put that all in quotes because you can hear him throw his voice high up in the back of his throat and create a fakey rock singer growl. It is by no means his "real" voice. I heard him, a long time ago and cannot remember where or when, sing in his normal voice an it is nothing like the rock voice. It is sort of plain and uninteresting, but not awful.
That said, Bon Jovi was always an image band. One of those very competent bands that had a really hot lead singer, and some hot guys backing him up, who could carry off that job very well. There were many back in the 80's but Bon Jovi certainly learned how to hang onto the fame and keep their career alive and actually sell new music.
On thing that certainly helped was keeping the original band intact.
And Jon Bon Jovi will be making the ultimate record sales boosting appearance on American Idol this year.
Can anyone say big-time lip sync of something from the new CD on results night?
