The guy knows more about that side of Styx' career than most of the band members. When VH1 doesn't have what they need, they call Allan, LOL. His stuff has appeared in BTM and a few other things. He also appeared in the "Mr. Roboto" True Spin episode. Allan is also a journalist who has interviewed Tommy, Dennis and JY ( on top of lots of others outside of Styx) and has a pretty balanced view of the past and present band. So I thought his presence provided a certain amount of fan perspective balanced with a certain amount of "in the know" credibility.

The video is the True Spin Video from VH1 and has Allen(styxcollector) and Sterling(Rockwriter) in it.

Oh no, it's back! LOL. I don't know if I can bear to see this again. I hated the way I looked in this so much it kills me. You know, these shows are shot by different crews in different cities, but they are all following a basic style that the producers dictate, so that when they edit the different footage together it has a sense of continuity. If you notice on this, they shot Dennis from the waist or torso up, and almost everyone else as well to keep them in scale. But the crew that came to my house shot me in a very tight closeup, and because of that, when my face comes on the screen it makes me look like a big giant disembodied head! I mean I look like a Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade float of myself, LOL. My face fills so much of the screen that they had to print my name over part of my chin, as I recall. It freaked me out when I first saw it, I thought, 'Oh God, is that what I really LOOK like?!' And because my hair was so short and my face so enlarged, I also bear a small resemblance to Alfred Hitchcock, LOL. You could sell advertising space on my forehead.
This crew was at my house from about 8 AM until about 10:30 AM, and they had these various "rumors" about "Mr. Roboto" that you had to read, and then they had the "true spin" as it were. So nothing anyone said in this other than Dennis is in their own words, which is strange. We're all reading cards. I thought it turned out okay for what it is. Nothing too exciting, LOL.
As for "Come Sail Away", actually yes, the producer of this had me on standby to maybe participate in another episode about "Come Sail Away" as well. I think they actually went ahead and filmed Dennis talking about both songs in one shoot while they were at his house, but the CSA episode never happened. I think the show went out of production before that happened.
I hope all is well. Now I have to go console myself by viewing some footage of Ted Koppel, LOL.
