The song that will be released in Canada in the next week or so will more than likely be the song with Éric Lapointe.

Bingo

God save us.

That has to be one of the most disappointing decisions that was made as far as I'm concerned, but this is only my opinion. I know what Dennis was probably trying to do, which is please the Quebecers, and I can't blame him for trying. Since I'm not a native Quebecer, this is a complete miss for me.

I agree but also say so what.
Radio in Canada is offering to play his music on the radio,
I dont blame him one bit for doing it.
Im sure if american radio made the same offer he would have taken it and did the same thing in the US,

Froy, I don't blame him for doing it either. But, saying so what is easier for you because he is not yet releasing anything into the US market. For english Canadian Dennis fans, they will be upset that music is being released into their market in a half french / half english duet. English Canadians don't typically listen to French music.

Can you confirm whether the song is in both languages and which artist is singing in which langauge?

I remember there being talk of DDY recording in both French and English, and same for Eric. So they could release it with DDY singing English and Eric French and vice versa.

My guess is multiple mixes exist.

I cannot say anything as I do not want to ruin the buzz
Its not fair.
I hope and have said Dennis should do this song alone also as a ballad this way its the best of all worlds.

Ballad? I thought Dennis was off that kick for a little while trying to prove he can write prog rock? Oh well..that was short lived.

What was short lived your common sense?
What I was refering to was for Dennis to strip this rocker down and take out the French guy and do an unplugged version.
Thus you have more of a ballad type song.
I have heard the stripped down version and I like it as much as the powerhouse
There different songs
I really think it would be a great idea

How am I screwed? At least all Styx fans past and present can hear this music alot more now than they have the prior 20 years. I would love for a reunion and for them to make great music together again. Ain't going to happen though even if they would get back together. Their best days are behind them and most know that.

You say that like it's something to be proud of.

J/K - I am proud I'm a Styx fan. I'm just not sure anyone else shares my view on that one. By definition, Styx fans are the nuttiest bunch of wackies there are (next to Star Wars fans, of course) ;-) LOL

A mystery, the future is. Good, a new Dennis DeYoung album may or may not be.

Yea alot more like 1000 times in 7 years and the same songs over and over
How much fun is that?
They have defamed the legacy of STYX I hope you happy about that.

I honestly think Dennis new record will be good based solely on what I've heard. Of course I'm bigoted toward liking his music - but does that really matter? I've gone back and pretty objectively listened to Cyclorama now that my emotion over it has passed and there are some good moments on it - but not enough for me to really get into it. I really like Waiting For Our Time, Do Things My Way, Kiss Your Ass Goodbye and even These are the Times is a decent song. But I really don't care for anything else on that album. Has nothing to do with Tommy, JY, or Larry - I just can't get into it. Big Bang was ok because of some of the songs and Tommy.

However - I simply can't stop listening to Influence. That is a REALLY well done record. Hell I almost wouldn't care if they did another album of covers and called it Influence II.

They haven't defamed anything. Without them touring the STYX name would be in the closet.

Yeah..like anyone here has an influence on band decisions. Oh please Tommy and JY, let Dennis back in the band so all 50 of us internet fans can be happy. Please. I will enjoy what both bring to the table. Just happens I enjoy what Dennis does less. Without Tommy and JY's influence on him, I don't really care much for it.

Froy my man your blowing smoke up Chunks ass again. Like EVERYONE else you dont have a clue what Dennis is going to put out. Youve heard a few new songs, but that in NO part = a CD.

I hope to hell that its a GREAT CD, but you are the King of smoke up the ass. Remember that T shirt you were suppose to send me?? There was also this limited concert you were going to send. Come on Elvis this shit never existed, its pretty much like you having the inside scoop on Dennis's new material.

All it is on your part is wishful thinking brother. Just some Great Great Great Expectations.

Yogi,just a heads up.
Froy has been able to rate full Styx albums by listening to 30 second snippets.
Rate full Styx shows,by listening to a boot.
Able to smell Tommy by looking at his picture.
Why shouldn't he be able to rate a Dennis cd by a song and a bit of word of mouth.

Because unlike every single other time he's made a prediction, THIS time it's based on solid, 100% reliable sources and experience. Just like when he said Tommy's voice was history from hereon in. Same sources.

You know Zan I admit that I was told Tommy had Tyler syndrome
It looks like it was wishfull thinking .
Or it may be true who knows

The deal with Dennis and his new music is I like it
I also like Esmerelda and Paradise and you hate em both
So Im not going to try and make you like his new cd
Based on the 2 songs I just mentioned you probably wont like the new cd.

I think you will blast the Canada single for sure because its open to be blasted
Its so bad that its so good.
This Time Next year is a great song you wont like it so we are again at a point where you wont like this cd

Its all opinion
When it comes out we shall see what the deal is
I wont say anything more about the new cd is on its way
