They used to put out awesome albums every year, i know that was driven by $ but they sure did well under pressure then.

YUP. I'm tired of bands that make their fans (WHO WON'T WAIT FOREVER) wait 2 or 3 years between records. It's ridiculous.

Neal is MR. Creative and with Sotto and Cain AND the new energy, I would've thought they'd have something in the can by now, even if it's wiping previously "in the can" stuff's vocals and adding Jeff's.
I dunno, don't ya ever get tired of waiting on your favorite bands for something new? I'm just wanting something new.

Quick reply...I just demo-ed Winds Of Freedom yesterday but unfortunately this version won't be heard as it's more a work tape for us all to learn from in rehearsing it next week...as well, it's basically a drum program, keyboard bass, keys done by Jon & Neal on guitars, not the full band. It sounds killer if I might say so, a testiment of what's to come. It's starts off kinda like When You Love A Woman but it's not a traditional Journey ballad, especially lyrically.

As far as new stuff, when, where, how, etc., Think about it folks....we toured literally until late Nov, got done with enough time to spend with our families for xmas, Jan, Neal/Jon & I did the ARF thing, Neal & I did the NAMM thing, then we did the Walmart thing, then we did the Florida/Mardi Gras thing, then we did Europe until late March. Next week we leave for VA & 3 days after that, I leave for 3 weeks to tour with Talisman....you can say we are busy boys! It's JUST over a month after we got back & yes, we needed a little break to get recharged for the writing, which now one is knocked off for the gig next week.

If you look at the spectrum of time, the burnout factor of touring & where we're at time-wise, we'll be at full swing writing by late June, probably recording by Fall & album out by early next year.

:)

You know, if this was Boston, you'd have a point. This is freakin' Journey! They have enough solo shit coming out every week, maybe they could actually devote all that effort to JOURNEY.

Sorry, man, but it's tiresome waiting for these guys.

Ding ding ding.
The solo material is free flowing from all except Deen pretty much.

Journey record already.

I'm crossing my everything for a new album
from the guys by November this year.

Sir Soto I am sorry deeply that you guys have been in go mode
since you joined but that doesn't change the fact of
how long the fans have been waiting for something new.
Hope you have a good show next weekend, good luck men!

Ha- Good Point! 13? Holy Hell!!
"I think about recording everyday"... yeah, whatever!

Remember in the 60s ( okay, I really DON'T) but Jesus, The Beatles would put an AMAZING album out EVERY YEAR. What is this 2, 3, 4 year BS?? It's like Boston set the benchmark for recording schedules.
I think EVERY band should have to do an album every year. Have shorter tours! Of course, touring (especially these days) is where the dough is for these bands, so I guess I see their point in waiting but with digital technology and laptops being basically little recording studios, I'd think planes and buses and long hours on the road would make for good song-demo management.
I think some bands can write on the road and others can't. Too bad.
Yeah, sorry, I get really impatient. A new album from a favorite band is like Christmas to me... Always was. New Mccartney in June, that'll help, but I'm not impressed with the two tracks I've heard.

Newsflash.
Nobody but you loons have For The Love Of Exaggerated Diaphragmnal Expulsions ranked ahead of Dark Side Of The Moon, either. Plenty of people (even though I enjoy the album) think that the 8 years taken to get that our weren't any more well-spent than the 3 years between Red13 and Generations.

The inference was from that other loon who bogusly tried to compare what is at this time less than 2 years after the last Journey album to the 8 and now 13 year waits for SP's records.
He was crying foul that we don't hold Journey to the same standards but there's an 11-year difference. And DON'T play the "HE can do WHATEVER HE wants" card b/c every time he pipes up he's threatening to put something out so he is cleary not above reproach on that.

I have to wonder about the family side of things. We are all anxious for new Journey material but what about the bands families? I am sure they also hear "Dad when are you going to be home?" or "You're leaving again?". I don't know the ages of everyones kids but at some point they have to be dads and husbands, too. Just chill out and let the guys do what they need to do make themselves and their families happy and content - we're a little lower down the food chain.

"And DON'T play the "HE can do WHATEVER HE wants card b/c everytime he pipes up he 's threatening to put something out so he is clearly not above reproach on that"

I'm assuming when you say "HE can do WATEVER HE wants card", you are referring to Perry. And if so, I CAN play THAT card Redjoe, because HE is Steve Perry, and that is "his right" to do what he wants with his life, no matter if you approve or not.

I just saw a "closed thread" here that Nora put up on the board, that he was in a studio, NOT singing or "threatening to put something out" as YOU call it, BUT DAMN, I just can't help it, I HAVE to say, I would LOVE for him to "threaten" me with HIS voice and music again!!! :D It sure would make me do cart wheels! :D

I THINK Perry just enjoys working BEHIND the scenes in the studios with other musicians right now, rather than singing himself. That's OK with me, he gets NO judgement from me, it is his right to do whatever he wants!

Oops, now don't yell at me, Redjoe  , but there I go, playing THAT CARD again

Well then it MIGHT be cooler if he just said when asked, knowing full well what people mean when they ask about new music, "I don't want to mislead anyone. I like hanging around studios in trenchcoats, dark glasses and a fake beard but that's IT. I'm not planning on recording an album or even a song."

Instead it's always that vague, laughable "I'm thinking of doing something" noise. If you say "he can play the 'he can do whatever he wants' card" than we can damn well mock him for being full of shit for trying to mislead you fine folk into thinking there's new music in the offing. BTW, nice veiled cheapshot at Andrew tearilly mentioning a closed thread that no possible connection whatsoever to the goings on in this thread.

Why don't you say what you mean: " Andrew, I don't think it's FAIR that you CLOSED a thread started by a loon and DEANO and the Journegoons can attack ANY and EVERYbody. Boo hoo."

Redjoe, I DON'T feel "mislead" by Perry NOR does it make me think that everytime I hear he is in the studio he is going to sing again. Just because HE goes to a studio does NOT mean HE is the ONE singing. Maybe you are the one that thinks that

It is Pat Monahan that is doing the talking about him, NOT Perry.

And NO, I did not take a cheap shot at Andrew for mentioning the closed thread. I only referred to it being closed because you may have not read it, or saw it, or gone into the thread, because it was closed, that's all. So you are misreading into my post, and also, I was not the "first one" to bring Perry up, you and NIG did... I just responded to your posts. :)

You sound like you are in a bad mood, :( Try to get in a better mood Redjoe, it is Friday!  The weekend is here!
