Don't ever complain when someone walks in and craps all over one of your threads. For all the things you complain about Froy about - you have proven yourself right now to be just as bad. No sympathy.

Wait to you you hear the studio version of This Time Next Year
It blows 100 years away
There is a special surprise in it you have not heard yet ,
Its a great tune.

And the funny thing there is 10 more

You should probably listen to it before you start slamming it. Its a really good song and as hard or harder than anything current Styx has done.

100 Years from now.
The original name of the cd was going to be something different
I will see if it ok to post it
The version with just Dennis is even better IMO
I hope that see's the lite of day,

I personally love the name of the other album a lot better than this one, IMO. There are 2 versions of this song, one with the duet and one with Dennis solo.

The one without Eric is the one I am very interested to hear. The song itself is top notch honestly. It is a cut above everything Dennis has done outside of Styx and for that I am very grateful. I am hopeful the solo version is what is on his album.

Makes me wonder if the duet version will be on the Canadian CD and the solo on the American one. I would love to hear the solo version. Without LaPointe, this song would rock big time. DDY doesn't need LaPointe, he's fine all by himself.

Actually - I had thought that possibly that this version would be on LaPointe's CD and the Dennis solo one would be on his own. I think that is the more likely scenario - although I could see yours being a possibility.

I can't see the title track of any CD released in the states being a bi-lingual track - it's just bad marketing. So we will have to wait and see.

I hadn't thought of that possibility. You may be right.

Agreed, a bilingual track in the States just isn't going to fly. Heck, they're arguing about it over here! :-)

Caught the tail end of the interview.Dennis sounded good.Looks like there will be 3 or 4 new songs played at the concert in Montreal.
Eric's voice is a bit much for me,but maybe I can get used to it.Liked the keyboard work on here.

Good guitar work, yes of course (!), but I love the keyboard trills (is that the right word to describe it??) in the background. Very Dennis. Makes me want to spin to the sound, whee!

I am liking this more and more. So many aspects of it I like. The background keyboards, the really amazing guitar work, and Dennis' vocals are that of someone 1/2 his age. He hits a high note at the end .... wow.

I love the scratchy record/accordion intro.. The whole song is both original, new and retro. A lot of creativity from that "old, white-haired guy"

And I don't hate LaPointe on it (sp??). Dennis said he chose him because he was so different from himself and I think he wanted to make it work. I think he did.

You Canadians are going to get 3 or so tracks from the new CD? Youse lucky youse!!

Bugsy

NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

I like it, but I don't see it silencing the naysayers who say DDY can't rock. It's definitely more in the spirit of older Styx, as is the other song that's been circulating. This one is definitely more focused. It gives me better hope for the new album coming, though. It's got some of the theatrics in there, too.

But it definitely has teeth - moreso than anything on most of his other solo albums.

I concur, Allen. It reminds me of Boomchild meets Hunchback meets the Scorpians. A little dated, and I'm really not digging the french bits, but it's not bad, all told. Maybe after a few more listens, it will grow on me more, that happens a lot to me with Styx and Styx related songs. We shall see.

I'm hoping the full English/DDY version is a bit better.

To me, both songs I've heard so far sound like DDY is trying a bit too hard to sound like old Styx. Maybe I'm wrong. I can tell he wants to silence the naysayers, and this release has the potential of being one of his better solo projects, but I hope it does not sound "forced" for lack of a better term.
