Just the song and clips from shows. Not too shabby!

After a second listen, I just can't get into it. There is nothing new here, nothing that makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. He is capable, at least was, but this bores me. Now, I am not just saying this because it is Dennis. I think Just Be is a weak effort and Everything All The Time just a little better. They are capable of so much more. One With Everything and a few others on Cyclorama had something special about it for me early on but I can say most of that was not lasting. I think it's some of their best stuff in a long while but not the same as the glory years. The only way to get the best out of this group of people would be to lock them away in a studio for six months to write and record. But everyone knows this is not going to happen.

I give this song 2 out of 5 and that is being generous.

I hear ya, im trying to get hooked on the song. I can feel it though.

I think we just need a FULL CD because the last few Styx CD's have been the following: Cover album, live album with two new songs and thats about it.

We need a full CD from them like Cyclorama, either way, im gonna enjoy their music and love it more and more each day!! :)

It is definitely growing on me. But for it to be a commercial success I would have to fall in love with it long before the 30 times or so that I have listened to it, including the 8 or 9 times in a row.

It is promising about what may be onthe album though.

Very well done clip for "wishiwas"! I enjoyed that very much.

Also liked the shots of m'boy Tommy. I know, what I can I say, I'm a hopeless groupie. :-)

Well, it's NOT the "glory years." Those days are gone. But wow, really? ANy time you hear a new song, do you expect the hairs on your neck to stand up to be able to enjoy it? Does it have to rival every best song you've ever heard? Sorry, that all kinda sounds like really high expectations you're putting on things. We've all been waiting to hear something so long, that when we do, it gets pounced like vultures on meat, and picked immediately apart. I don't find that terribly fair. Do you think the song would be more enjoyable (and everything else, maybe?) if it wasn't run six times through the "scrutiny ringer" first?

Dennis sounds good. The other dude sounds constipated. I don't think their voices mesh at all.

The song is decent and grew on me after a couple of listens. I think it's about the same quality as a Just Be which also grew on me.

I gotta say, it now is my second favorite Dennis solo song after Blackwall.
I am ajusting to Eric's voice and it is all coming together quite nicely.

Eddie Van Halen once said a song should make you emote something...whether it be happy, sad, horny, whatever...this song does nothing for me so therefore I don't really care for it. I can listen to a million artists who create songs that do nothing for me. It doesn't mean it can't be good for someone else. I am a fan of Styx and DDY so I gave my opinion of this song. If I ruined this song for someone, sorry...but in the future I would advise not visiting forums that tend to have opinions that you may not agree with if it's going to ruin it.

The studio version didn't really do much for me but I thought the CYO version was better with the strings adding some depth to the overall sound. The first half was a little too slow for me but I thought the song picked up in the latter portion. For a Styx song, I didn't think it was one of their better efforts from a musical standpoint. Lyrically this was a strong effort I thought. I can relate to Tommy's lyrics more often than Dennis' as he tends to be too corny sometimes for my taste.

I promise, ya didn't ruin it for me. I was won dering more if maybe ya ruined it for yourself with the over-high expectations. ("You" being the collective bone-pickers, not you in particular, Grote) I was just saying it's tough to enjoy anything when you demand TOO much of it. I agree, a song SHOULD make you feel at least SOMEthing. But if it doesn't match the preconceived picture in your head, does that make it a bad song... or just a different one?

I had no idea what this would sound like other than the Froy buildup. I know he can sing, in that there is no question. I know that most of his most recent recordings I have not really cared much for so I think I came at this from a pretty even perspective. Do I think it is his worst offering? No. Do I think he can produce much better? Oh yeah. Will I like his new CD? I have no idea but I think it will be better than most of what he has done in recent times. I will give it a listen.

While I fully realize that a LOT of people detest this song, I will admit that it is one of my favorites. Maybe it was because the first time I heard it was AT the CYO show lasst year, maybe I'm a sucker for killer harmonies, maybe it's the haunting melody or the general message of the song that does it for me. Regardless, I think it's one of the finer Styx tunes of the past fifteen years, without a doubt. I think it's the business. I like it MUCH better than say, "Waiting for Our Time" or "Little Suzy."
