Typical (boring) REO setlist

Postby rtz » Sun May 20, 2007 6:14 am

Just got a recent boot of theirs from this month in Oklahoma. If you've seen one REO show the last 15 years, you've seen them all. They've had no soul in the band since making the huge mistake of kicking Gary Richrath out. Here's the setlist:

Don't Let Him Go
Music Man
Take it on the Run
Keep Pushin'
That Ain't Love
Tough Guys
Dangerous Combination (new song, least sucky song on the album)
Can't Fight This Feeling
Time For Me to Fly
Back on the Road Again
Keep on Lovin' You
Roll With the Changes
Ridin' the Storm Out

The funniest part of the concert was Kevin bragging of "how proud" they were of the new album, and he wished he could sing more than just one new song. Give me a break, it's their call on the setlist. Take out some songs from your stale setlist, play the new ones, and have the crowd boo you mercilessly. :0)

Hell, I have a recording of a 2006 show almost a year BEFORE the new album came out where they played FOUR new songs.

I really used to love this band, but the last time I saw them I was so bored I left before the show ended. It was like watching a rerun I had seen 10 times before. If I go see them again, I need to take a "Where's Gary?" sign.

I'm in to see REO at Glasgow on the 4th June, 26 years to the the month after I last caught them in the Manchester Apollo. Regardless of who has left and who's new, I'm looking forward to the gig...I've the faded ticket stub from '81 for them to sign if they come out after the show that is

You are so right dude.

Gary had to be kicked out though..he is in terrible straits. I know exactly where he lives. You can see him bumpin around Newbury Park, CA, in his 1994 San Francisco 49ers sweatshirt going down to the liquor store for a bottle of red wine.

Gary is a lost cause. KC had to kick him off. Gary is NOT a fan of Kevins. I have sat with him and spent over 100 dollars in pitchers of beer talking REO with him. Sad story.

PS, the new cd is rat piss.

Agreed, but I'd say you were being kind in calling it that for songs 5-10. The first four songs are decent, but the last six are downright embarassing.

I only like 3 of them, and Dangerous combination is the best.

I can do a dead on Kevin Cronin impression....something that when I do, I look like I just sucked off a giraffe...squinting and shit, I look like a faggoty Joe Cocker, but sound exactly like him.
