I think someone posted this link a while back, but if you didn't check it out then, you really should. These are some of the most complete and insightful interviews Dennis has ever given. He doesn't do his usual tell-a-joke-to-deflect-the-question routine, he answers everything straight and you get a much better sense of the real person.

Thanks for reminding me about that.

By the way, you can also look at the list of other interviews and find a great interview with Derek Sutton, who used to manage Styx, and I think I saw Don Passman, who is Dennis' lawyer, is also listed although I have not watched his interview yet.

Thanks for the heads up. I just watched both interviews.

I continually find it quite interesting the positive advise that can be taken from listening to successful people in the music industry. I am in the creative marketing field for manufacturers and find many parallels in the branding issues, how I try to conduct myself with integrity as well as some pretty cool ideas about working with my graphic design artists.

I absolutely love Derek's talk about the Band Manager having to learn cold calling. One I struggle with in my business. Because I see myself as a manager more so than a sales guy. In relation to cold calling, he says something to the effect that a managers job "is to get other people to do the jobs they are being paid for." After numerous tapes and books. I find this to be hands down the best advice I've ever been able to relate to for cold calling. Which I need to do urgently to keep my business going.

Those are great interviews...
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.
