Sad to think that this line (and Murry Wilson-esque variations on it) was probably uttered in band meetings and backstage areas over and over again back in the day.

OK, that's just plain funny.

First of all, it's: Dennis', not Dennis's. Second, Dennis found him to be talented enough back in 1962 when he asked to join their little group. Thirdly, Dennis didn't reach out to anybody, his manager did. If Dennis was a big enough man, he would have made the call himself, but as cowards do (you would know about that, wouldn't you, Rajah?), he hid behind the "coat tails" of his manager and had him make the "olive branch" call for him. At least Chuck takes responsibility for his own decisions. Fourth, what would you know about decency?

Oh so now you are giving me grammar lessons. Tell me Zan, how high of an educational level have you achieved? What school? How many degrees do you have? I am dying to know..

Lack of education (and in some cases, really insidious disinformation), lack of funding, lack of technology, lack of a medical infrastructure worth half a damn, the list goes on.

It ain't because they're all about the reckless promiscuity.

I'm probably the only person on this board who has actually lived in Africa so I thought I'd address the AIDS crisis. You are right that funding, technology, and medical infrastructure play a huge role in the problems of Africa. However, it would be wrong to state reckless promiscuity isn't a large factor in the spread of AIDS in Africa. Simply put most of the cultures in Africa are far less sophisticated and the historical mores of these cultures are far different than those in the west. Sex is a primal act and Africans tend to have a lot of it.

Promiscuity and rape do not carry the same societal stigmas in Africa as they do in other parts of the world. The way we can help change things is to educate. One of the problems with education is western ideas are often ignored or even held in contempt by tribal leaders and much of the general population. Africa is in a situation many civilizations have experienced and must find it within themselves to either adapt or be destroyed. We can educate, send free condoms, and send free AIDS cocktails until we're blue in the face but the Africans have to have to adopt the knowledge and use the condoms. I have a hunch a large chunk of Africas population will die before the rest get the message and things change. I love the African people and abhor the way many of them are dying but they will ultimately determine their own fate.

Asks the guy who lacks basic elementary grammatical skills while calling other people "losers" and giving a lecture series on human decency.

I'm still waiting to hear about your experience with decency.

I'm still waiting for you to make an intelligent point..

That is what I thought about your education experience...

And as far as decency goes...I think you take the cake on that one...

Would you feel any better if I corrected you on your grammar? I have a bachelor's and two masters' degrees.

Maybe 30 minutes a day. It's a nice escape from the everyday things I have to deal with.

But its also nice to know that you can't do math either. Tie this with your grammar disability and you would make any special ed department proud....

Hey, I used to correct Froy on his grammar all the time...
I sense a pattern here...

;)
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Wow. Back to the subject of the forum, we are all assuming that Chuck knows for a fact that DDY's manager was trying to reach him in the first place. Who knows what that was for. The guys in Styx shut the door a long time ago didn't they? I think DDY claimed he tried to speak personally to JY and TS many times, but was referred to the lawyers/managers. Chuck is in that camp right now. Therefore let's do lunch, my people will get with your people.

Lawyers or not, it's not an easy road to communication on either side. I think most of us believe it will happen at some point in the distant future. The barbs on both sides have calmed down in the past 2 - 3 years. Doesn't mean that feathers aren't still ruffled.

It'll be interesting to see what happens in the next 3 years. If Styx releases another album with pretty much flat sales, where does that leave them? If DDY only has success in Canada, where does that leave him? Interesting questions to play with.

It leaves Styx touring to earn their cash and it leaves Dennis semi-retired living off the royalties his catalog generates. Not much different than today.

Being elected to the hall of fame would probably be the event that gets them back talking. While there is a slim chance that will ever happen, I do think they would agree to play at the HoF together rather than apart.

Speaking of HOF....This is what Jy had to say about the HOF and Styx performing together on a radio interview that Allen posted a while back, so some of you may have heard this. http://media.wlup.com/AV/audio/zakk/zt_jy_070321.mp3

Here is the thread that the above interview was attached to.

Here is what I see happening. Around 2011, DDY, TS and JY will put aside all differences to record a couple of new songs that will be part of the 35th anniversary deluxe CD of the Grand Illusion that will be released on 7/7/2012. They will then do a full tour that summer/fall where they will play the entire Grand Illusion album as one piece with cool backdrops and video/lasers. The tour will be followed with a DVD/CD release of that show. The CD will have a new song or two and there will be rumblings of them recording a CD will all new songs. Well, we know how the rest of that story would pan out.

If by chance they are elected to the HOF around 2020, well I could see them putting aside their differences again to have a cane toting DDY crowing BABE I LOVE YOU to his wife sitting in the first row.
