So I wonder if they'll announce a summer tour now with the new singer! It seems unlikely that they'll go into the studio at this point!

Who will buy tix??!!!

Bingo. They'll hit the road as soon as possible with this new singer and will probably continue for as long as the crowds keep coming. Fucking ridiculous. This is a damn joke. Journey just watched the only shot they (realistically) have to regain any spot in the music spotlight walk right out the door. YOU'D THINK THEY'D WANT THE REVIEWS THAT THEY GOT FROM THE DEF LEPPARD TOUR TO CONTINUE. What possible negatives would there be to this???

They're a fucking joke of a band now. Shame, really.

I did hear Perry was working again in the studio in the valley, CA. My friend works at the studio and informed me of this. BTW; cool to think it could be new music with "the guys". Can't really ignore the fact they are changing/looking for a possible lead singer around the same time?

Thanks for checking in with us, Jeff.

My head's still spinning over the news. I'll continue to support you in anything you do...

I am with you on this....let's all remember that JEFF was (and IS) a very talented, successful songwriter, producer and amazing vocalist all before Journey came knocking! JSS fans know that!
Don't worry...he always has some project brewing :D

My head is spinning on this!!!
Now, that I've thrown my fit... I have to grasp my new way of philosophy..
WE CAN'T CONTROL WHAT PEOPLE DO, WE CAN CONTROL HOW WE REACT..
I'm trying to be calm about this, not worry, I mean there are so many OTHER things to deal with in the world
besides, ''Who's the lead singer now?"
THIS SH*T IS BREAKING MY HEART!!!
I have children listening to JOURNEY..They are laughing at my BAND!!!
They tell me JOURNEY lead singers are like REO drummers...NO ONE KNOWS THEIR NAME!!!
Do you know who the drummer of REO is? It's up there with the Anna Nicole scandal...
DO YOU KNOW WHO THE LEAD SINGER OF JOURNEY IS?
Where's my EXCEDRIN!!?

What a joke this group...please retire this time, REALLY retire. May be too late for the good name Journey, but maybe after a few years rest, we can pick up the pride again

You better believe BT is down. They could never take minor heat, but this? They might as well pull the plug, disown the site

Damn, you miss a day you miss a lot. This is a very interesting development.

JSS, sorry to hear about the change. As you know, I think you're a great singer, just not the best fit for Journey. I hate to see anyone get hosed so hang in there bro, you'll be fine without them. Keep rockin.

It will be interesting to see what happens. There are only a couple of scenarios that makes sense with this change. 1, Perry is coming back and anyone is out that stands in the way. Journey are assholes and decided to make a change after making JSS part of the band. If they weren't sure, they should have waited before making Jeff "officially" in the band.

Going forward, everyone knows who my pick would be. However, I'm sure there are a thousand people out there that can sing like a motherfucker that we all have never heard of. If its not one of the obvious selections that have been batted about here for years, how about a brand new person that no one has heard of? I guess it really doesn't matter to me. All I want to think is "Fuck that dude is the best ever" when I hear Journey so bring it on! Bring Deen out front would also be "least pain" option.

As far as all of the hoopla is concerned, does anything think the casual fan knows or cares? I'm betting not. Most casual fans still don't know that Perry is gone. Most of the hard core fans will be upset by another move but I doubt any casual fan knows or cares.

Just as a side note, no chick singers please. That wouldn't do either.

Hi Jeff...I am COMPLETELY behind you, too. This SUCKS donkey balls big time! You totally blew me away in Fresno last October, and I will continue to follow your career. As for Journey....they just lost another fan. Thank God I saw Journey with Perry twice back in the 80's, and once with you!

You certainly have a point, however, the foundation - the grassroot promo - is now gone. A chick would allow them not to have to worry about hitting the high notes though!

Another option was JSS "didn't fit" the Journey lead singer mode. Mgmt or a band member thought he wasn't right for the band. I have had my dobuts about JSS fronting the band. Then I saw them in Nashville and that pretty much changed my mind. JSS is fantastic, but as some people I know have said, he really didn't sound like Perry. And that may be the problem. If you sound to much like Perry your a copycat. Not enough like Perry then you are not Journey. I was really looking forward to the new cd. But in the back of my mind I wandered if it would sound like Journey. Whatever it sounded like, it would have been good. But I think that worried some of the people in the Journey circle that it may not sound like Journey, IMO.
But I don't know. I'm just guessing. But Journey has lost a BIG plus for the group. Didn't know jack about JSS until Soul Sirkus (which was ok) saw them in concert, and now I'm a JSS fan, and will continue to be-ERIC

Dude, you're right but I'm not sure how much influence the grass roots promotion folks really impacted ticket sales.

You are right about a chick singer being able to hit the notes ... which IS a requirement. I'll take someone that has vise grips attached to the nut sack if needed.

As a side note, please no Steel Heart dude!

I have been a Journey fan since 1978 and the actions of Neal and company as of late are just shameful....disgraceful and a total embarassment to all the Journey fans past and present. How can Neal and company look themselves in the mirror each day is beyond me. The only solice I have is the memories of the past Journey.....the Journey of today makes me wanna throw up last Christmas's dinner. I will always be forever a fan of what was with Journey but as of today my fandom for Journey now is OVER....the Party is Over and I have gone away!

I dont even know where to begin, besides the fact I am totally disapointed ! Journey has shoved a hot poker up all of our asses once again. People traveled hard for this band last year and this band while JSS saved there asses. In no less then 4 months he's out ! I cant even think of making sense of this. JSS brought life, fire and a new attitude to this band, what part of that did Schon and Cain not get. They blew the doors off of many areans last year and had some great reviews. Was the fact that JSS was stealing all the headlines just too much for Schon too take ?.
I was away this last weekend and was getting some of my freinds into some of the JSS boots, and know hes gone. It is time too move camp over too the JSS board. Journey has dug its own grave on this one. I don;t think they can come back from this one unless Perry himself make a comeback, but those chance are slim and none and slim just left town. I would say the chances of that are .001%. So hopefully we can see JSS in the US sometime son, until then I don;t know what to make of this fucked up situation. Makes me think alot of people wasted a lot of time and $$$$$$$ last year.

JSS you will be missed, as far as Journey goes they fucked themselves and all there fans straight up the ass with no lube !

Not an ounce of dignity in the way they handled this today. I still love the music, but I'm thoroughly disgusted with the band as a whole. No one in their right mind will want to touch the lead singer position in this band after this.

Andy, I feel for ya buddy.

This has got to be one of your worst days running this board over the last 10 years.

As for Jeremy becoming the lead singer, who ever thinks this should happen, needs to be shot. Let Jeremey be happy doing what he's doing. Why fuck up his life by being associated with people who won't give a rat's ass about him?
