Stranger In Town

Does anyone else dig this one? I read somewhere that Luke thinks of it as the worst Toto song ever.. It is very '80s, but there's something appealing about it. I don't think they use Paich enough as a lead vocalist..

Yeah..it's not bad - very 80's...there are better tracks on that album ('of course!' you say)

The re-mix (or the version that was put in the Video) featuring the "Hey!, Hey!, Hey!" part is better...

The song is very good rocker, but for the cd itself, it is a very mixed bag. Either the song is good, or blows. Very uneven. Of course coming after 4, just about anything would have been looked on a failure. They really rocked on this one compared to the laid back 4.-ERIC

That's true Eric.

The album was very produced, though. And it has a few gems, Angel Don't Cry, Carmen, Isolation, How Does It Feel and of course Stranger In Town ( which had quite an interesting video, if you ask me ).

Maybe not their worst song ever but the worst on isolation anyway.
Isolation is a great 80's aor album exept for that song.I think there is something lame about it,the melody,the hooks,you name it.I guess it's just a matter of taste.

I liked it. The video definitely added to its appeal. I agree it wasn't the best tune on Isolation but not terrible either.

The only weak track on Isolation is Hollyanna which for some strange reason was also a video and a single. Otherwise Isolation is one of the best AOR albums ever and easily Toto's best work. Admired Fergie ever since.

I never really got into Isolation much other than "Endless" and the title track, but those two tracks are among their best. (yet neither was a single, go figure)

Wish I could've heard some studio tracks with Bobby though...hearing him sing those two songs on tour this year was like hearing them again for the first time.

Isolation is a magnificent album. I remember when it came out I could not stop playing it. I honestly believe that it is a more consistant album than iv. I always found it strange that the band did not regard it in such a high manner. Recent years have seen them paying more homage to it. As for Stranger in Town I feel it suits the album well. I agree with an earlier post that Hollyanna is the weakest song on offer.
