Dennis best solo work ever by far... his other albums were hit and miss... where this is excellent from start to finish.

I always got the feeling with his earlier solo work that Dennis didn't want to compete much with his Styx material so he always went in a different direction.

Now, since he's no longer a part of Styx, it doesn't matter if he does Styx-like stuff so he isn't holding back anything.

This is *easily* the best solo work by any Styx member. Period.

All I want to know now is... when's he gonna start working on his next CD?[/quote]

Well, you may not have to wait as long as you think.Riding on the succes in Quebec, there is a rumor going around.
I heard from somebody who knew somebody who was there,in Suzannes' book club,in which froy showed up once, but he brought the wrong book, but that's beside the point.Suzanne wants to put out a cd with all the songs Dennis wrote for her. They are going to be re-worked into some kind of duet type thing, like they are singing to one another. The working title is:Babe ,Je'taime,or something like that they said.I can't name my source but it a sure thing.
Cover is like a Lennon Yoko thing, the one with the white cover in the nudies.
It should be out for Christmas or maybe it was valentines day.I forget.
Jesus loves you ,but everybody else thinks you're a knob.

I agree with you on that 100%. And I LOVE Tommy. But this album is fantastic. I can't stop listening to it.
And I agree that Dennis didn't have to hold anything back, either. He just did what was in his heart and his head.

Here's my review after a few more listens:

One Hundred Years From Now (2007) 3.5 out of 4 stars (very good to excellent)

1 One Hundred Years From Now -– great track –very elegant pomp vocals with a great chorus and guitar riffs, don’t care much for the French lyrics since I have no idea what he’s saying but musically very good, strong lead track to start the album with
2 This Time Next Year - great track – great pomp opening verse with the keyboards and guitars - great chorus and background vocals, really like the follow-up vocals on some of and the cool guitar beats. Yep yep yep…
3 Rain – great track –another gem here, probably the best track on the album, great keyboard work on this one and some great vocal bridges, the song goes into some different directions that really work. Nice vocal nod to the Earl of Roseland near the end. Rain is here to stay.
4 Save Me–great track– a great mid-tempo tune here- nice soft piano to start with and picks up speed throughout the song, nice little keyboard/guitar rift at the end of the first verse and chorus. Very catchy tune.
5 Breathe Again –great track – another strong mid tempo tune that also builds up quite nicely. Nice vocal melody that goes in a few cool directions. Great background vocals and echoes that work well. Nice acoustic work in the background.
6 Crossing The Rubicon – great track - I might have to go back smoking some good pot for this one, great beginning keyboard sequence that has that water effect to it. Opening verses have a bit of a haunting melody to them. Song picks up more steam in the middle with a cool vocal bridge giving way to an all out jam of keyboards and guitars. Nice keyboard outtro.
7 Respect Me – decent track- nice little guitar riffs on this one and a bit bluesy, free flowing guitar playing here – solid vocals that fit the music. Chorus is so-so. The verses are much better
8 I Believe In You – great track – nice lead opening chimes and keyboard with a nice vocal overlay. A very anthem like chorus with strong guitar finishes and great keyboard fills. Piano outtro on this one that wraps it up nicely
9 Forgiveness – decent track – a bit of a haunting sound on this one, can really here Kevin on the chorus – doesn’t deviate too much from beginning to end.
10 I Don’t Believe In Anything –good track- one that Kevin shines on vocally - probably his best performance that you can really differentiate his voice on- another bluesy type track with a bit of country thrown in and talking about technology – go figure, but it works-
11 Turn Off CNN –good track- good guitar riffs throughout and a strong rocker to end a great 50 minutes worth of music -

A great album. Dennis still sounds great vocally and his keyboard work on this album is stellar. The mixing of Dennis’s and Kevin’s voices is top-notch. Not a bad song in the bunch.

I love playing this cd over and over with my headphones on, the only way to listen and enjoy GREAT music :)

Every time I play this cd I keep switching which songs are my favorite. On this early morning I can't stop playing "I Believe In You" !!! I think I'm on the 10th time playing it in a row :)

If the stars aligned right when the US release happens, I think this one could actually hit the Billboard Charts....

And I'm sure you'd be screaming from the rooftops that he didn't sell any copies in Compton.

You say good things about Dennis you get shots taken at you, you say bad things about Dennis you get shots taken at you. Sorry, but none of them are at the top of the pedestal and none of them are god.

No, you bash and then play innocent by posting a few positive things so you can say "look, I say good things about Dennis".
