Cartoon Covers

Postby GrandIllusionist725 » Fri Jul 27, 2007 2:12 pm

Since my collection of LP's is nearly finished (Edge of the century missing) i am collecting the solo years of each artist and i thought it was time to collect the cartoon covers!

I found Miracles today for a dollar and i was wondering how much are those cheesy looking cartoon albums worth? I have the CD with the cartoon cover for the first styx cd and i never see the Serpent is Rising anywhere and im not sure if the Styx II cover is the one that says LADY across.

Anyone know? :?:

I'm almost positive that there was one for Serpent is Rising... I remember it was odd that it was just shortedned to "Serpent" I think. (Wasn't Man of Miracles also shortened to "Miracles?") And you're right, I believe that the "Lady" album was Styx II. It's been years since I've seen these, and my memory is a hazy smush, but I'm pretty sure. Heck, in the depths somewhere, I may have one or more of these...

The cartoon covers were the late 70s/early 80s issues by RCA, who owned Wooden Nickel. I guess they felt a semi-naked Styx on the Styx I cover wasn't "hip". All four WN albums got them - Styx I, Styx II (renamed Lady of course), Man of Miracles (renamed just Miracles), and Serpent Is Rising (renamed just Serpent).

These are not hard to find and at most should cost you a few dollars each.

what a dumb idea those were...
Let's totally confuse record buyers!
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.
