I'm still in bed quite a bit so I have been doing a lot of watching and reading on this matter.
I must say too that I am hesitant to believe that the whole always comes out in these sort of things.
Anyway, I am still leaning towards that with the condition this bridge was in, this bridge somehow, should have not been open during some of the construction.
Granted, this would have caused a major heartache for the city, but if this was the reason it was kept open, when maybe it shouldn't have been, what a shame.
Being that it appears that a 'horrible human factor' didn't cause this, there's not really a lot of options left if you think about it.
Ok, the bridge needed work, so kudos for working on it, but was there too much working being done with a already faulty brdige to leave it open during this time?
Was this bridge in such a shape, that no one knew, that this would have happened eventually even if they weren't working on it, and working on it while leaving it open will get blamed because of the timing of the two?
Humans were working on the bridge, and humans do make mistakes. Was there some faulty work being done.

I think you are sensible to do so, I saw this news on BBC this morning and it is n't very nice at all, but constructions do get old and can become fatigued.
Also I think if there had been any kind of incendiary device set off you would have known by now, over here whenever a bomb has gone off the police and the forces have always found evidence in the forensics to suggest it,and you usually find with that sort of thing, especially regarding political factions, that they really want to take the credit so it isn't usually too long until some gets a tip off.

my thoughts to everyone concerned.

Loss of life is one thing when it's done at the hands of Mother Nature
but when it comes from a man made structure somehow it's harder for me
to accept, I'm always thinking.........could this have been avoided?

Prayers and hope will remain from me for all those involved.

Larry please tell me how one get's ready to die?

I will keep them in my thoughts and prayers....

It scares the hell out of me to think how many other bridges and overpasses that are out there that are in much worse shape. Yikes.

Shut the fuck up.

People, man made shit breaks, ok? The bridge is 40 years old and that isn't that old in the life of a bridge. Shit happens. I am willing to say that something caused this bridge to go down, whether it be movement of a bridge pier, or a shift in the ground. We had railroad bridges that were and are 80 years old, and are just fine...

Put the engineers in jail? The media is making a huge mockery of this. Bridges fall, highways crack, and infrastructure crumbles. Yes, it would be nice if it could have been reinforcedt, but no, it didn't need to be rebuilt.

Perhaps if we weren't spending a a billion dollars a month for a ridiculous war in Iraq, we could spend that money on US infrastructure, but I do not want to politicize this.

The bridge collapsed; it happens.

The Venezuelan baseball star Ugueth Urbina, of the Philadelphia Phillies, has been arrested in his home country on a charge of attempted murder.
Mr Urbina and a group of men have been accused of wielding machetes at several employees at his family's ranch.

They are also alleged to have poured petrol on them in an attempt to set them on fire.

Mr Urbina, who is one of a dozen of Venezuelans playing baseball in the US, denies any wrongdoing.

He was a star pitcher for the 2003 World Series champion Florida Marlins.

Five workers were injured during the incident last month in Ocumare del Tuy, 80km (50 miles) south of the capital, Caracas.

'Sleeping'

Mr Urbina was reportedly celebrating his return to Venezuela after the end of the US baseball season.

One of the workers, Argenis Farias, accused him of being among the attackers.

But Mr Urbina's lawyer said that his client was sleeping at the time of the incident.

He was detained at his home on the outskirts of Caracas and is due to be formally charged when he appears before a judge.

The pitcher's mother was kidnapped in September 2004, and rescued five months later in southern Venezuela.

First and foremost, stay out of our country. As for the bridge that collapsed, if only it had been in Venezuela we could be celebrating rather than mourning. Hopefully, in the offseason you run into Carlos Zambrano and he uses your ass for pitching practice. I'm sure with the amount of times your ass has been used as a sperm bank he could easily fit a dozen Rawlings in your caboose.

And what the fuck is a "pinguin?" Tell Chavez you need to quit picking fruit and enroll in school. Illiterate fuck.

If Obama gets in the Oval Office, I can only hope he gets hopped on a bunch of Olde English Malt Liquor and says to his SecDef, "let's get those Pakistani cockguzzlers." When he goes to hit the button, he accidentally hits "Venuzuela" instead. Fuck, I would volunteer to work for his re-election right then and there.

Based on what I've read so far you know less languages than anyone else posting here dickface!. I know a bunch of Spanish curse words but that doesn't mean I speak the language. You know a bunch of American homosexual terms, doesn't mean you know the language.
