Great songs never die

Postby ek88 » Thu Nov 20, 2003 4:20 pm

Here's something that will warm the heart of all you Styx fans. I was a sponsor/driver for a Christian rock concert tonight that some of our local youth attended. On the drive down, one of the kids asked if I would play one of their burned CDs. Lo and behold, the 8th track was none other than Come Sail Away. So there I was, with 4 teenagers crammed into my Ford Escort, cruising down I-80, singing CSA along with them (rather loudly, too, I might add) with the stereo cranked. Boy, if that didn't bring back a few memories of similar scenarios from years gone by. Incidentally, the concert was pretty decent, but the ride down was the highlight for me :D

ek, that brings back a few good memories for me too. Before I got too busy with my career, I worked with the Youth Group at my church in a similar capacity....at the time, the kids were more partial to the Police, but I had a killer car Stereo at the time, and am surely partially responsible for hearing problems we all wil experience as we approach old age......

I'm sure those kids are glad to have you around !

Damn, We Styx fans are soooo damn cool. We ALL will stand the test of time. I can see it now as ek88 pulls up to the concert. " Hold on kids wait for me, I sure dont want to lose this baby" Upon saying that she rips the Jensen 8 track tape player out from its brackets and puts it under her car seat. Now that scene takes me back to the day!!!!!! Hell, just the other day I was out my back porch working out with the Styx music blarring. From Queen Of Spades, to Renegade, to Blue Collar Man, to These Are The Times, to Midnight Ride, To Born For Adventure I was feeling damn cool as some the youth in my HOOD pulled themselves up to the top of my privacy fence to try and catch a glimpse of the cool stud with the music cranked. I damn near broke my neck falling of my GAZZELL they startled me so. We are Da Bomb!!!!!!
