Who's Journey???????

Sorry, I couldnt resist that.

Actually I just finished reading an article in the Chicago Sun Times www.chicagosuntimessperry where a pair of doctors ( Dr. Patrick(Pat) McGroine & Dr. James (Jim) Nasiumn) from Mass General Bone and Joint talk about Steve Perry's hip injury. They both state that the injury 'started in Steve's lower back', 'between his sixth rib and his lumbar proper'. Steve ignored this for so long(early 80's to mid 90's) that it has a 'great' chance of affecting him in his later years. 'It's a very very serious condition' states Dr. Adam Baum who first diagnosed Steve in 1981.

Another doctor, this one from St. Paul Ramsey Hospital ( Dr. Anna Rexic) attributes Steve's injury to the FACT that he carried the other four quote/unquote 'musicians????' for soooo many years.

Same stuff that's been happening for a few years, and especially since BackTalk closed. I feel for the Journey fans, but it's not like Andrew hasn't been threatening this the many times he's locked the board in the past. Sometimes enough is enough.

If Journey doesn't give a crap about it's own web site and it's forum, why the heck should Andrew? Why should he supply a place for Journey fans if the band can't get their act together?

Journey has become a joke. If they're going to regain their diehard fans (not those from the 80s, but those who have stuck with them 'All the Way' through the 80s until now) they need to do some major work on themselves.

1. Get a friggin' world class web site. Yours is awful. Way behind the times, Ugly, no information, etc.

2. Stop using backup vocal tracks during your shows. Sing the parts or hire background singers.

3. Get a touring schedule that doesn't ruin each lead singer you work with.

4. Get a decent front guy and let Neal just play. He's got no charisma and nothing to say, so get him out of the front. Looks like he hates to be there. Jss did this great, though I still debate whether his voice suited the band. However, Jeff's take charge front guy attitude was obviously a threat to Neal and John. Stupid. He's a front guy, that's what he's SUPPOSED to do.

5. Cain and Schon- when you play a gig, at least LOOK like you're enjoying it or stay the hell home.

6. Take your share of the blame for the Augeri crap that the band caused by their over touring.

7. Take your share of the blame for kicking out Jeff.

8. Level with your fans about everything.

9. Put out a quality CD and go in a new direction. Perry ain't coming back, so move on.

10. Or- do none of these things, get Perry a decent vocal coach to bring his voice back and sell him your souls to get him on stage with you.
(there's as much chance of that happening as The Beatles reuniting with John and George)

And by the way, during your world travels, see if you can get a refill on your Karma. You guys are about out of it.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Kudos to Andrew for saying he was going to keep it closed and doing so.
Usually he would open it back up right away.
He has a lot going on with the show right now.
He should keep it closed until after the show or until BT opens.
Glad to still see it closed when I check in.
Respect to Anderw big time.

After reading some of these Styx posts - the Journey board can be relatively reassured of its mental stability!

I simply called out Deano on the nonsense and lies that he posted on pretty much a daily basis there. And the crudeness of his and others postings... maybe that's normal in Australia, but it's unacceptable where I come from.

I don't care how long you post on the board, there's no excuse for that. Just because someone has no life and posts 40 times a day while others may simply read the boards doesn't make them a *bigger fan*. You could and should have nipped this stuff in the bud a long time ago.

Your allowance of that sort of behavior *really* puts a bad light on your whole site... which is excellent.

It wouldn't be hard to get a few good/honest moderators to police the boards... other sites do it with success.

However, you need to clearly define what is acceptable and not acceptable and apply those rules to *everyone*... not let some slide under the radar because they say they have inside info.

I had just joined the Journey board a week ago and man, what negativity!!! Some over there took postive spins and turned them inside out. I know not all is happy with Journey's direction, Lord knows I'm not but I'm not gonna start bashing everything Journey because of it nor bashing someone who still spins positivity. God, a couple over there attacked a Journey tribute band singer.... It was best at the time to unplug that board and re-open up some minds!

Hopefully very SOON!!! I'm going to a car rental place to see how much it costs to rent a van for a road trip. I don't think my "taxi" van (LOL) will make it. This time I'll have to pay the Canadian rates - LOL

Road trips are MORE fun with me when I'm tanked up on Monster Energy - Mwwwwaaahahahahah!!! 8)

I do love talking people into going on road trips with me or meeting at concerts! It's always a BLAST!!!

I talked one person into going with me to South Bend (and they haven't been on a long road trip with me - LOL)
