Tours that should have been?

New poll. Lets assume that these tours existed. You can only attend one of them. Which would it be?

None of 'em look all that appetizing, but I'd have to go with JY for the novelty value.

The Styx option would have been horrendous, and you can see the DDY one out there now (he's already playing the one really good song from that album, plus a whole lot else that he wouldn't have been doing back in '84)

I think the City Slicker tour would have ended up being a JY's greatest "hits" in Styx tour. I saw the JYG in Jacksonville in the early 90s and it was exactly what you'd expect. even down to JY singing "Runnin' loose in the streets of Jacksonville!" during Wild Dogs in the Night. Thy played Come Sail Away and Rockin' the Paradise (both of which sounded forced).

NONE OF THE ABOVE.

I remember liking most of DM when it came out. It would've been cool had Styx stayed together and they had a section in the show where each guy got to play a solo hit. However, if they'd have stayed together, then Glen wouldn't have been there and that would've sucked.

City Slicker tour- damn, that'd be funny! I can hear the radio ads the night before the show:

"HEY GANG! THIS IS DJ DAN JUST LETTING YOU KNOW THAT 25,000 EXTRA TICKETS HAVE BEEN RELEASED FOR TOMORROW'S JY SHOW!"

They'd be running Black and Decker ads with "Toys for American Boys" as the background music.

=)
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

JYG didn't play CSA or RTP (acronym overload!) on any of the recordings I've heard, but yeah, the shows were about what you'd expect otherwise: a handful of solo songs, and most of the Styx songs from the A&M years which he wrote or co-wrote. Pretty cool, if you're into that sort of thing.

Besides, if it had been done in '85, he might've conned Jan Hammer into coming along. Key-tar solos!!! :P

I actually liked the JYG album. It wasn't too bad.
