Another Review Of Light Up

Postby Everett » Mon Sep 10, 2007 1:58 am

All I can say is that WAS THE LONGEST DAY OF MY LIFE. But besides that a good one none the less. I got to the grounds at about 11:15 am I know your probably asking "what the hell is that guy doing there so early?" I'll tell you why because mostly if not all light up shows I've been to have been packed and I mean packed except for today. They opened the grounds about 5 mins early which wasin't too bad. I just hate that ticket system they use for food just stick with good hard cash. Anyway I eventually found the stage they were going to play at and parked myself front row center. I've got no beef with native americans but that was enough of their culture for one day oy lol. Anyway the act before them was a group called brole' (I hoped I spelled it right) and the place got packed I mean it litterally packed. So I scooted out of there and hanged with randy the merchandise guy until that was over. I was talking to another gentleman about this usually the act before another one would plug that act before they go. Well that didn't happen and as soon as brole' was done everybody left. I joked with randy that you guys should of bribed the people to stay. So then I went and parked myself back at front row center then I finally got to say hi/have a small chat with dennis (their manager) and I asked him again for a copy of the set list which he happily gave me one after the show. I just wish more people would of showed up (it was a horrible crowd I'd say maybe 15-20 people at least) if I had known that I wouldin't of been there all day. Unfortunately they only played for about an hr and a half which is a complete rip cause there used to playing 3 hours or more. But all in all it was a good show. I just can't wait to see them again those guys really kick ass. Here's the setlist for those interested:

Intro
Blue Collar Man
Rockin' The Paradise
Light Up
Madammoiselle
Lady
Grand Illusion
Fooling Yourself
Miss America (didn't do a shame really beacuse I really love hearing kevin sing and banging those drums at the same time)
Castle Walls
Grand Finale
Crystal Ball
Suite Madame Blue
Lorelei
Babe (didn't do thank god lol)
Renegade (didn't do although when they left the crowd was chanting for that one)
Come Sail Away
Best Of Times (didn't do)

Also a funny story. Aparently when I first arrived the grounds sound guy called dennis to tell him that they've got a fan there already. When he first told me that I was really surprised then I chatted with him after the show and then he asked me "why did you get here so early?" Then I said to get good seats because these guys always sell out the place but it's just to bad it didn't happen today. Still a shocker to me when dennis told me that but funny none the less.

WOW- I just listened to Mademoiselle on their Myspace page. THESE GUYS ARE GREAT.
God, I've heard other Styx tribs that just suck! These guys sound great.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.
