ATLANTA ROLL CALL

Postby Zan » Sun Sep 09, 2007 11:54 pm

It's getting closer...Who's going?

I will have my friend, Karen's VIP ticket with me in case anyone was late in deciding but still wants to go. She is asking $45, what she paid. Email me if interested!

believe me, i know my Styx

I'm probably going, but as is always the case with me, I won't know for sure until the day before. I will go UNLESS I wind up scheduling an interview to promote the book, or an interview with someone for another project, that conflicts. How's that for hedging my bets? LOL.

BTW, if I go, is there a reasonable hotel nearby that anyone can recommend? I used to live in Atlanta, but I haven't been there in years and years and years. Thanks!

I am staying at the Hyatt. I'll be with a new friend who lives in Atlanta named Sherra. She has absolutely no clue as to who Glen or Styx is. This could be interesting.

I have heard some great feedback from this show. I certainly wish I could have made the roadtrip. I did attend one of Mike Cohen's shows a couple of years ago when Randy Jackson opened for Kevn Kinney of Drivin' n' Cryin'.

What did everyone think of Randy's performance? I have been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work with Randy and Zebra the past eight years, booking and promoting shows throughout the Midwest (Dallas, Houston, Chicago, St. Louis, etc.). We have more recently been able to do a few shows in Atlanta.

And for those who are fans of Zebra, I am currently working on possible DVD-release parties in Dallas, Tulsa and St. Louis.

Check www.thedoor.com for current tour dates.

This was a lot of fun! I had a lot of fun seeing NH again as well as getting to meet Zan, Sterling, Stabbim and others. It was a great time. I had to multitask a bit as I had a date attending the show with me and had to make sure I didn't ignore her as I tend to do at these things.

The set list was great! I loved when Glen asked Zan to come on stage and sing the "Dennis DeYoung" parts of "All In A Day's Work". Of course, she didn't. Glen played Heart in 3 and Bam... which are the two songs I really wanted to hear him do acoustically. The whole show was really good tho and Glen was just as personable as ever. During Heart in 3 he stopped right before the bridge and said "What... I'm supposed to do the RAP?"... then paused, and pulled it off brilliantly.

Sherra really took to his music so I think I've made a convert out of her.

Sweet! Sherra seems very nice. What the hell is she doing with you? ;-)

Seriously, it was good to meet you, Sterling, Mark, and company. Nice to put real faces to names.

Re: The Dennis Part. There was NO WAY I was doin' that. I mean, How dumb do I look? (Don't answer that!)
Still & all, I had a good hearty laugh. I told Glen after the show that it was good to see him give back a little bit of the smartass I've been dishing out in his direction over the years. Fair's fair. LOL

The rap was funny too! Although I'm still kinda partial to "Oh Darling" myself. *g*

I have had nothing but a great time meeting up with folks from this board, and others, at various concerts.

Glad so many of you were able to meet, greet, and have a good time.
