Saw this on the internet... read about half way down the page... this guy says Andrew has confirmed that Arnel has been hired and is rehearsing with the band in San Francisco??????????? I'm hoping this is NOT true!

I wouldn't be surprised at all if this was true and they'd be already rehearsing.Arnel is too good to be dumped.

The Journey sweatshop hired a 3rd world singer for minimum wage? Shocking.

The guy sounds better on the non Journey material. I did like his version of Heart's "Alone". Not so much on the Journey songs.

Journey have become the biggest joke in music. Fortunately no one gives a shit about them now, so it will fly mostly "Under the Radar".

There's a sludge crap cover band called Lithium playing old nirvana tunes at the local rehearsl studio, made up of out of work 20-somethings....them playing together is not any more newsworthy that the idea of Journey slumming it in SE asia....

Andrew didn't confirm that Arnel was actually hired. He only said that he auditioned in SF and the band loved him.
That's all I remember,but maybe I missed something while I was away. :?

He didn't. I remember Andrew confirming arnel was in San Fran auditioning, that was all.

Arnel is not and will not be the new lead singer.

So you are saying Journey can't find and use someone outside the US? What you only will accept is a white American singer? How narrow minded if so. To me this just shows Journey is open minded to all singers all over the world. Shows what an "international" band they are.

If this guy can sing the songs well and puts on a hell of a show, who cares where he is from or how he looks? Sounds like he can at least sing the ballads which JSS couldn't!

And unless you work for Journey how can you possibly know what really happened to Jeremy? Just because he says so? That's only half the side of the story. Heck if I was denied the gig I'd publicly say I turned it down too... although I don't believe Jeremey would turn down the gig. He was not good enough for the pro ranks, and thats ok. But call a spade a spade. Rockndeeno has proven he is just a loser loud mouth hidding behind his computer screen with no real inside information and only hate and spite to keep him company.

First off, go fuck yourself.

Jeff Scott Soto is Puerto Rican and he was the best possible choice to front this now loser band. You lose dickweed.

That's BS most of the fans that speak around here and
elsewhere were in full support of Soto taking helm of the scarab ship.

C'mon man, lets not play the race card!!! I wanna see Journey live on also but thats a steep comment to make. I happen to agree that Arnel is not right for this gig but not because he is from the Phillipines. I would rather see Steve Augeri back than him. I wouldnt care if Corey Glover from Living Color was up for it(I happen to love his voice)
