In my 2nd interview with DDY he does talk about how Roboto was never meant to be a single but it tested well, and how there were no rockers on Kilroy, etc. So some of it isn't new, but it was a very revealing interview. DDY seems to be opening up a bit more.
And let's face it, anyone who thinks that had Styx done a more formal rock show - even if just for the stadium gigs - would have saved them is just flat out wrong. They were headed for a collapse. Kilroy certainly accelerated it, but it was in the cards.
