It's all about preference, nothing more. "Talent" is only part of it. Why is that so fucking hard for people to understand? People prefer artists based on MANY thing...talent being one of them. There's physical appearance, stage presence, voice, emotive skills, improvisation and intangibles. People that throw the term "racist" around are nothing more than ckunts. Anyone that accuses of another of being racist over their preference of a singer should be hit in the back of the head with baseball bat.
But what if racism is the reason for the "preference"? Just because we have a choice doesn't mean we're not harbouring feelings superiority and contempt for other races or nationalities.
Anyway...I accept that there are all kinds of reasons to take against Arnel...the question mark over his stage presence...loyalty to another singer..a wish for the band to retire....and so on. But even though Arnel's race has been a burning issue of debate and the butt of a hundred jokes EVERYONE is denying that they are racist.
Yes, some of all this fuss might come from politically correct posters who throw the term around too easily. However the law of averages suggest that some people genuinely are being racist about this.
I wish someone would just have the balls to say: "Yes, I don't want Arnel to join Journey for racist reasons. Just as I wouldn't want a woman to front Journey for sexist reasons. And I don't give a shit who knows it."
Instead we all these 'patriots' paying lip-service to a touchy-feely liberalism they simultaneously claim to despise.
