A last reunion with Perry is an offer that Journey couldn't possibly refuse.

Yeah...And there were more than a few cryptic references to "deja vu" while I was out in CA that made no sense to me. That and a few overheard phone calls.

But why would they even have brought you out there Jeremey if they dumped Jeff because they knew Steve would come back?

maybe to push Steve in a corner. Poker hand, and well played?

For someone like me who never got a chance to see Perry. This rumour really fills me with excitement if true and dread if false.

Seems like Perry has to get into FanAsylum again and tell us:
"It has been brought to my attention that there is a rumor circulating that I am reuniting with Journey. I want to go on record as saying that I have no such plans whatsoever to do that. What you have heard is only a rumor. I’m truly sorry for any disappointment this rumor may be causing."

Steve r the man !!

I'm not sure I believe this. This sort of rumor has happened way too many times in the last 10 years, but some other things have happened lately that haven't happened before.

If by some chance it were to be true, I hope Steve is doing it for no other reason than because it's what he wants to do.

Maybe nothing had been confirmed yet, and they were weighing out all their options? There still is nothing concrete yet, only rumors.

Makes perfect sense considering that the preps for such a reunion would have to be pressure free.
Just imagine the harassement of the media and the fans if they would have outed this one via their official sources.

These rumors are already enough to start a wildfire.

If anyone could get these guys in a room together, it would be old Irving. And with the new Eagles CD out recently & Irving's involvement with that, could be that he's just got reunion fever & made these guys an offer they couldn't refuse.

Old article but interesting.

From the article:

This week a publicist for the band announced that the recently named lead singer -- one of several attempting to fill the shoes of the inimitable Steve Perry -- was leaving the group. Jeff Scott Soto joined Journey last July, replacing Steve Augeri who had to leave the 2006 tour early because of illness.

But Neal Schon expects to see Journey releasing a new album and embarking on another tour in 2008.

Buoyed by the song's resurgence, Schon wishes they were touring now. "It ('The Sopranos') just solidifies the fact that whether you like us or not, we're not going anywhere," said Schon.

And if the high-profile "Soprano's" finale wasn't enough, one rock observer muses that the new year may bring what many fans have been wanting for nearly a decade: a Steve Perry and Journey reunion.

In fact, Perry told Entertainment Weekly his layoff from music may be over. "Actually, I am messing around with music again. I'm starting to write and enjoying the process. We'll see where that takes me."

Sounds like another cliffhanger.

Some will win, some will lose

Some were born to sing the blues

Oh, the movie never ends

It goes on and on and on and on

Let's hope we don't have to hang on the cliff much longer.

SP said "no" on the FA site and Andrew said he didn't think so...so I guess we sit and wait.

OK, that just sounds like speculation to me. Taking a little of "this one said" and adding it to "that one said" and thinking "it must be this".

Wouldnt that be a kicker. Pay off one trip to CA to get ready for another trip out west. :D

IF this happens, you can bet that Fresno would be on that schedule, given it's only an hour give or take from Perry's hometown, and Journey was HUGE here back in the day.....and your happy ass had better be here!

No way.

If they do this, they won't stop in Fresno, not even for bus fuel. They will do big markets. There isn't an arena in Fresno that they could play. That place at University of Fresno is too small. They would do Staples or the Pond in LA, and then to the Bay Area for shows. You people in cow towns and outposts won't get a sniff. This won't be a Carnival and Hot dog Fair tour if it comes true.

The payday for a tour like this would shorten up a tour schedule considerably. No longer a need to cover all the small market coliseums and stretch it out over 6 months. Hit the big stops and give Mr P plenty of rest between shows and they'll do fine.

Won't pay dime one. Neal can use someone else's money to impress groupies.

Kamala is singing for Journey anyway. He is nice, and fan friendly, but watch out if he is hungry.

This would be fantastic. I'd certainly drop everything and sell anything to get to see Perry with Journey.

...I'd kill if somehow Gregg Rolie and/or Steve Smith got involved.
