Props to DD! I saw Van Halen in Greensboro this year. I'm actually starting to think maybe Van Halen is back? I don't want to jinx them though.

Hell, he's always deserved more props than he's gotten.

From the youtube clips I've heard he sounds like shit for the most part, BUT he's out there giving the fans what they want. Personally, as much as I dislike Eddie Van Halen and hate to admit it, his guitar playing sounds amazing and I think he is carrying them on this tour.

Yep the show was killer in Chicago
I thought of Perry during this concert.

Roth has always sounded like crap live. That being said, he sounds better now than he did in the 80s when he was perpetually stoned or drunk, or both.

Aside from some technical glitches by the sound crew they've pulled it off flawlessly thus far. Hopefully, other singers might realize it's not all about sounding like you did 25 years ago or what happened with bandmates in the past, but rather putting egos aside, tolerating each other and giving the fans the concert they never thought they'd get to see again. David Lee Roth could sound like he swallowed a gazoo covered with thumb tacks and I'd still respect these guys for giving the fans what they want. That's what it's supposed to be about.

Of course, knowing Diamond Dave, it's probably more about the money making it a LITTLE easier to "get along" with the other guys for a long enough period of time.

I was a HUGE skeptic of this tour and must admit that I wanted it to fail. However, after watching some clips it appears that it "feels good" to these guys. I think they realize that roaring crowds were something they missed and that hugs, sobriety and sanity beats bickering, in-fighting, indulgence and the ensuing insanity it produces. These guys are having fun.

I don't know the details of all the stuff that's happened between Dave and VH. I stopped caring about them when he left. But I do know I saw him on TV singing with an acoustic bluegrass band and his voice was every bit as good as it was the last time I heard him on TV with VH and all the electric amplification.

Saw him in Philly, and while it was pretty cool, it didn't have the same magic that the Sammy led band had in '04. Just my opinion.

I have heard nothing but good comments from people i know that saw VH, they would be my "new band" if I could get tickets{not from scalpers} Big difference when you you have the orginal lead singer. He is a showman

Although Michael is not with them, from what I've seen on YT and from what people say,the shows are excellent.
Dave is the absolute showman and Eddie, well,he just IS ! :)

With that being said,I am still a huge fan of the Sammy Hagar era. That line up was magical for me.Ever since they've split,I've kinda lost my interest.
But wouldn't refuse a DVD of the current tour.I truly hope they will release one.

Saw them on Thursday in DC and they absolutely kicked my ass. Dave was on fire and seems to be singing better and better with each show. Definitely go see this set if you get an opportunity.

Since it's clear who you're talking about here, Juanno, I'm going to go ahead and clap you on the back in advance for being in the 99.9th percentile of loons who if it happened, would NOT sit there and go "OH MY GOD!!!!!!!! HE SOUNDS EXACTLY THE SAME AS HE DID IN 1981!!!!!!!!!!"

I want that classic lineup onstage one more time. DLR sounds mediocre at BEST and yet the crowds have been deafening. Fans are called fans for a reason. Again, I still say Perry does the North American leg of the tour.
