Hi, Suite! I am glad you posted this. I was going to add to this thread earlier, but decided not to do so. You hit the nail on the head.

Here is my take on that earlier one of Current Styx. They made good money for that show and plenty of others. I am sure THEY don't care.

Good Morning Bugsy :)

I even trimmed the babbling that I was going to post on some of this nonsense (I was up late and too tired - LOL)

I agree on how you feel too :)

My kids ABSOLUTELY loved the show.

So did mom & dad.

The Jonas Brothers are EXCELLENT.

It was a really good concert!

P.S. When I fired up the doobie the people around me TOTALLY freaked!!!

Wound up behind the Jonas Brothers in the Macys Parade...I don't get them.

I went to Hershey PA instead, where it cost me $55 for seats way back on the floor, but we snuck up to the 12th row. (this is the show where my darling hubby & son got FREE 9th row tix handed to them, so they could look for us...LOL)

regardless, i know a bunch of people who went to the Jones Beach show and had a good time. but they didn't pay the $275 (or more from scalpers) to sit close. So a valid point has been raised- there is a very strong possibility that the other sections were quite full.

That was clearly Jone's Beach. Styx was the opening opener and I would venture to guess most Styx fans, like myself, did not want to pay big bucks to see styx play 6 songs at a place you can't even purchase a beer. Most of my friends have stopped going to that venue. We were backstage for Phil Lesh and friends and were expecting to have some fresh Magic Hat beer as Mike Gordon and Trey Anastasio(sp?) toured with kegs. Not a drop to be had.
Any how, I digress....the next show was at PNC (or whatever it's called now) and Styx ate everyone's lunch as they played the middle set. That show rocked. I think it was even discussed on a DL board.

I get full replacement value for my stuff, but I'm really stressing over losing some signed stuff by John P & John C. Both household insurance companies are in on this too, since we have houses in SC and Florida, and I got a feeling when it's all said and done, we will Max out the $250K insured through Allied, and $50K max that the Household insurances will pay, since it wasn't on the actual home and probably still wind up with a loss.

I actually took that video (hence the matching names). I will admit, it was a little upsetting seeing it that empty, but I think the broad daylight was a major factor. Also, I cannot help but wonder if it would have been the same for Foreigner if they went on first that night. In that regard, Styx must be in the same boat (good or bad) as Foreigner. Regardless, that version did seem a little stale. As much as a love the band and will surely see them again, they need to change up the setlists and/or take some time off...for all of our sakes.

I actually want to go to one of them (especially since I go to college in Fairfield, CT), with one of my buddies who I worship Tommy with as a pasttime. However, he's hasn't been giving me a straight answer, so I have to work on that one. Worst case I wait for this supposed tour with the Scorps.

275????
Geez, what the hell??!
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Bry, those seats might have been reserved for the I Love All Access "People" who with paying the $275 through Def Lep's site, get guaranteed first 5 rows, merchandise and a meet and greet with the band.

Some were 225, others up to 325 depending on the 4-5 star packages.

Def Lep set the ticket prices on this tour sadly.

If I paid that much money for a concert, I'd damn sure be there for the whole show. Regardless of whether I knew who the first band was or even whether or not I liked them. Money apparently doesn't mean too much to some people these days. Although, from a hippies stand point, that's probably heaven. :P
I have video from St.Paul (no sound) that show the seats are full. Big deal. Styx are one Class Act and if people don't appreciate them, it's their loss. They're probably another one of those artists that won't be appreciated until they're gone. I'm glad I've been along for the ride! :D
