My Toto Pictures from Moondance Jam (July 14)

Postby weatherman90 » Thu Aug 23, 2007 9:46 am

I also posted some of these on the Toto Network. Here is a gallery of about 20 of the pictures I took:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/11437594@N07/tags/lastfm%3Aevent%3D314738/

As you can see, I was at the front and was right next to Bobby when he neared the edge of the stage. It was a really great concert and a big thrill for me since I'm a huge Toto fan.

Excellent show it was, nice pictures! I was there and wish they could of played a lot longer, they stole the show from the whole Moondance I thought. What did you think of the whole Moondance Jam?

I'm only 16 so I could only convince my dad to go to one night of it. I agree with you - Toto needed at least another hour for the show - they stole it as they usually do :)

Since we were only there for a few hours on that night I didn't really get the whole Moondance experience, but it was a thrill to see Toto live.

Gottcha, too bad, I really enjoyed night #2 with REO, Cheap Trick and Kansas. Anyways, what did you think of the Moody Blues? I know they are a bunch of fossils but they really still sound pretty good. The Moody Blues are such a great albums band. Can't wait to see whats at the Moondance for next summer. I came all the way up from Chicago to this years and it was worth it.

Toto is such a kiss ass band, I ended up seeing them 3 nights later on July 17th in Chicago, so I got to see the entire 2 hour show and all I have to say is that may of been the best concert I have ever been to in my life. Flat out awesome.

I'm hoping for something along the lines of Sammy Hagar, Heart, and the Doobie Brothers for next year's jam. Hopefully I'll get to see Toto again next year as well.

The Moody Blues was great - Justin's voice is still awesome and they can still play good. I'm glad I got to see them at the Jam since I doubt I'll ever get to again. Unless of course they continue to tour after they turn 70. :P

Hey LtVanish - where were you standing during the Moody Blues set? Were you near the stairs at the center front of the stage?

I was standing 3 rows back stage right for the Moodies show. During Toto I was in the front row right in front of Simon's Drum kit. I got to talk to Leland Sklar after the show, he was such a friendly guy.

Lucky! I've got to wait several more years before I can get VIP. I was by the stairs just a couple people back during both shows. I bet your head is on some of the pictures I took of Simon then.

Image

If you would have been by the stairs during the Moody Blues concert, you would have recalled this guy, who sat on the stairs and smoked at least 10 cigarettes right in my face. I wasn't too appreciative!

Here's a couple MB pictures just for fun.

good times that is for sure. I can't wait to see what next years line-up is going to be. I may have to make the trek up from Chicago again. Plan on going again?

I'm definitely going again - I've already got a list of bands I'm hoping they bring in. I'm a bit worried as I've heard that Bob Seger, John Mellencamp, or Dave Matthews Band could be possible headliners. I don't care for any of those bands - I hope they can find something better!

Was this your first year at the jam?

Yeah that would not be good. I could put up with maybe one of them on a given night, but I wouldn't be excited about it. Yes, this year was my first time up at the Jam and I'm sure it will not be my last. I had a great time, and it was only about a 10 hour drive. It was nice to get away for a week. Enjoyed how friendly everyone was everywhere we went and the event was so nicely organized. If the lineup is as good I will be up there again next summer. I stayed at a hotel for the 4 days this time around, but it would be neat to camp out there also, although I think I would need a camper, sleeping on the ground for 4 nights would be a bit of a stretch, plus a decent shower everynight.

Yeah - we're lucky enough that some relatives have a cabin near the campgrounds so we are able to stay there. The only downside is that its about an hour and a half drive to get back at night once the concert is over. I'm looking forward to next year and I can't wait to see who will be performing.

Another festival to keep an eye on always is Rock Fest in Cadott Wisconsin. www.rock-fest.com in years past they have had some serious lineups there also.

Saw Rush earlier this month in Minneapolis. It would have been much better in an outdoor venue, though. Maybe Moondance will have enough $$ to pay for them when they tour again in 2 or 3 years.

I saw them as well here in Chicago, they played at an outdoor venue here, and it was an unbelievable show, probably 25000 in attendance as well.

They drew about 15,000 in MPLS. From our seats, Geddy looked like an ant, but luckily we had binoculars. They're probably tied with Eric Clapton musically as the best act I've seen. Are you going to the MR Fest?

Yeah I am, should be an excellent time. I only live about an hour from South Bend. I can't wait to see JSS and Scrap Metal. I am also going to see Genesis this week, which sould be excellent as well.

Well have fun - I'm nowhere near Indiana so you won't see me there! JSS should be good - hopefully this Journey mess gets sorted out soon.

Lynyrd Skynyrd just signed for the next jam....

I'm still hoping for Heart, Doobies, Sammy, and maybe Donnie Iris...

Great White would be good to see too - maybe Journey feat. Arnel will make an appearance?

Awesome! I wonder if they will make that an Southern Rock night, maybe .38 Special and the Allman Brothers, would be pretty cool.

I would like to see Asia and Foreigner make appearances as well. I have been dying to see the new Foreigner lineup. Last summer I saw the original lineup of Asia and they were awesome.

It is going to be hard to beat this last years lineup.

It will definitely be hard - Toto is as good as you can get.

Asia would be awesome - Milwaukee is their closest date and that's way too far for me. Would love to see the new Foreigner lineup as well.

I'm planning on catching Asia again this April when they come to Chicago, can't wait. Are you planning on coming to all the Moondance Jam this coming year?

I just got the new Toto live cd yesterday, it is great, it reminds me of this last summer. I can't wait for the DVD. I have been listening to FAHRENHEIT a lot lately as well, I think this is Toto's most underrated album, it really holds up well to this day.

I'm planning on coming to Thurs, Fri, and Sat. Not a big fan of cover bands so I'll probably skip Wednesday.

I'm waiting for the live DVD - the release date is approaching, but too slowly! Fahrenheit is awesome - Till the End is my favorite Toto song.

I hoping to make it up to the Moondance again this coming summer. It was worth the 900 mile trip. I hope I can get a hotel closer to the concert site though, instead of having to drive all the way to Park Rapids.

Yeah I'm guessing you would have to reserve a room really early. I'm going to try and snag my tickets while they're still $110.
