Thanks Stmonkeys, I had no idea how to spell schlemiel or schlamazzel. They just don't write them like that anymore. When I hear the word hossenfeffer, I think of that old Bugs Bunny short with the King yelling, "Cook bring me my hossenfeffer".

This thread has convinced me it is time to dust off the ol looney tunes collections DVD's I got for xmas a few years ago !

can anyone point me towards any catoons made in the last 25 years that will be remembered as fondly 40-60 years after they were made ????

I didnt think so....

I'm just waiting for a release or two of the old WB cartoons that didnt feature Bugs, Daffy, Porky, etc.....there were some classics there that arent getting the love they deserve !

actually, AVATAR: the last airbender is a very well done series. its on one of the nick stations. i think a movie is also in the works...

otherwise, yes, you are correct. they don't make them like they used to. my 7 year old daughter just LOVES the flintstones & the jetsons.
