I'm sure that will all change with Jerry Jones' new billion dollar stadium that's being built in Texas. I'm sure it won't be long before it's called "Dell's Texas Stadium". I'm with you on Wrigley...That's simply blasphemous. You can't fuck with shrines like Wrigley, Fenway, and Yankee Stadium (although I think this is the last year for Yankee Stadium)!

That's sinful to mess with Wrigley.
I'll never call that place anything else. Kinda like the Summit in Houston that was renamed to Compaq Center and then a few years later it turned into a Church. YES...the place where Journey recorded the '81 DVD is now a fucking CHURCH. But, I'll always call it the Summit.

Maybe. He's also the biggest jackass on the planet and one of the worst owners in the NFL, in spite of his early success with GREAT teams!Arkansas wrote: Now then, I can't hardly imagine that the Cowboys' stadium will ever have a corporate name attached.
I couldn't disagree more. Jerry Jones has already been on record as saying he wants to see the salary cap in the NFL abolished. I don't care how much money the guy has. These guys can NEVER have enough money. If he is offered the right sum of money, you'll see a corporate name on that new stadium. From what I understand, he's already swindled a boatload of money out of taxpayers for the new stadium, so he's obviously not opposed to taking money from any place he can find it! Wrigley Field has FAR more history than Texas Stadium, and if Wrigley Field can be re-named, then ANY facility can fall victim to the loathsome corporate name!Arkansas wrote: Yes, he can be a very self-righteous man, however, he does maintain that the Cowboys are America's tean, not his.

Jones doesn't "maintain" the Cowboys as "America's Team"! Cowboys fans really need to stop with this nonsense! Everyone who is a sports fan in this country knows that the "America's Team" monniker was dreamt up and given to the Cowboys by the fucking Cowboys! It's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of! I can assure you that the people outside of Dallas and the Cowboys fan club have NEVER considered the Cowboys "America's Team". There is no "America's Team", and if there were, I'd give it to Green Bay (a team that is actually owned by the community they play in)!

Rick wrote:John, I agree with you on Jones as being a jackass, and I agree that he'll have that stadium named after whatever sponsor pays the most. It'll be the Campbells Soup stadium in Arlington before it's all over. But most Cowboys fans don't propogate the America's Team moniker. And if we do, it's just to get someone's goat. That moniker is as embarassing as Jones himself.
