I actually saw that line up live on the Shine tour. Never would have guessed SA would end up in Journey.

I was expecting Tyketto ala the first album, so it was kind of a let down to hear all these Shine songs.

SA lacked the power of Danny, so even the older Tyketto songs sounded less good.

Pretty disappointing affair.

Augeri's vocals are less polished than his work with either Tall Stories or Journey.
He throws himself into each song and let's it all hang out - flaws and all.
Unlike other works, silky AOR high notes are not the goal here.

For an example, listen to "Better Together" on 'Generations'.

On this Shine track, when Augeri's talking, he sounds SO much more in command than he did with Journey. He sounds rough on those high notes though (and those notes are way high too)

I only have the first Tyketto album, I'd love to get my hands on the one with Augeri!

Wasn't Eternal Light the song that was "leaked" from the new TS2 CD?

Anyone heard it besides me? Thoughts?

I liked Shine, I like Steve Augeri, and was glad he kept Tyketto goin for awhile- Unfortunately- like his predocesser in Journey- his Tyketo predoceser , Danny Vaughn is extremeley powerful -The only to vocalist in MR that can make my head spin other than JSS and Steve Perry is Danny Vaughn. When Danny did an acoustic opening for Journey last year, I was totally floored by what that voice could do . Its hard to compare Augeri to that much the same way it is difficult to compare him to Perry.

Steve Augeri sounded great with Tall Stories- his music, his best range - that Album is one of my favorites. If only he could have made a living doing his own stuff - and hopefully this Tall Stories work which comes out this year sell well - after all hes a class act and deserves it.
Im with ya on this one.,Ill support him

The SA lineup wasn't supposed to be Tyketto at all, they were supposed to be a new band called Shine but the record company insisted on them continuing as Tyketto.

I like "get me there" from the shine cd and the live cd, however I thought the Tall Stories sound was awesome.

Since this has all hassed out, I also think Augeri was an odd choice for Journey. He could sing no doubt but had a different vibe to him. I would've expected them to go with Chalfant or Hugo before SA.

Wouldn't it be cool to have alternate universes to see how these other routes would've gone?

In the end, I liked his cd's with them and he kept them touring so no regrets.

im willing to bet "better together" is a reworked ts leftover. like "high" on the shine cd.

I always thought that too. It's one of my favorite songs on the CD and I always felt it had a TS feel to it.
