OT: Guitar Hero

Ok, first off.... been playing guitar for 25+ years, played hundreds of gigs in original bands. I figured Guitar Hero (the video game) was pretty lame... until the wife got it for me for my birthday. It freakin' rocks ass.

So much fun.

Don't even look at the song selection... the makers did a great job of picking songs that are easy to get into, easy to enjoy, regardless of the band/style/genre. Kick ass mindless fun!!!!!!!

(and even has Black Magic Woman, complete with Neal's guitar parts)

Can't really say which is better. I kind of like Rock Band because the drums are cool and you can have someone singing too. Which is alot of fun after a few cocktails!!

Rockband...that shit is a good time, especially at a party w/friends...All of the sudden the lead singer turns into a pre-madonna when you play some bad notes 'You're screwing up my parts!' Just like a band!

Dude, Deano, I've been reading your posts for years..... and you rock. Pretty much been a lurker... an evil, daily, creepy lurker.

I tend to agree with you 100%. Which admittedly is scary as fuck, but it is what it is....

What rocks about GH is that they have a cooperative band mode that allows multiple players of differing abilities to play in a "band" together! The wife isn't quite as good as me, so we are going to get another controller and play with me on a more difficult level. Pretty cool shit.

I honestly don't know Don Dokken's carrying capacity... but I have carried plenty of Fender guitars... and that can be prohibitively heavy.... :-)
