I'm thinkng the snotty chick that destroyed Queen and either this chick or
"the Rocker Chick" are going home. That rocker Amanda can't sing anything
without sounding like she's smoked a carton of Pall-Malls before hitting the stage

Carly from Ireland and Brooke, the blonde that sang acoustic Benatar last night were incredible.
I'm picking Carly to make the top-3 if ANY chicks make it that far...

I like Carly and Brooke. As for the Rocker chick, not so much.

My money is on the one of the guys, the younger looking kid and Carly.

Amanda, the rocker, well, I thought I was going to really like her, but last week she did something to Carry On Wayward Son that I just couldn't get over. She was much better last night, but I'm not sure covering Joan Jett is much to brag about..................

Carly, well, she kills every week in my opinion. I'd also like to hear David Archiletta cover Journey, would be interesting.

I think she could have done better, she was having vocal problems like anyone who sing Journey songs. At least i could understand what she was singing. The dog comment from Randy cracked me up.

I thought it was OK. It wasn't horrible, but wasn't great either. I agreed with Simon that the girl is forgettable. I do think she was right to give it a country sound so she didn't sound like she was trying to mimic the original. The screw up of a few words (not what was changed due to time restrictions) really annoyed me.

Randy NEVER misses a chance to name drop Journey. Wonder how Ross likes that.
I prefer Randy's bass playing though... Sorry.

I thought it was OK, does work as a little country.... But of course I was applauding when Randy said No one sings it like Perry. End of of discussion.....!

Carly has been great but she was the early controversy regarding eligibility for the show. She had a record contract a few years back and lost it. Guess that is old news, no problem

Rocker chic looks like a different person when she covers her hair with a scarf...softer, prettier. I enjoyed her last night, not so much before. LOVE the pall malls remark from Carlitto, so true!
"In Journey, all the hit songs we had were based around Steve Perry's vocals."

Next time, she needs to drag her toes across the stage. That'll help.

I third the motion.... Randy's low-down funky slap grooves make ROR for me.

from a gossip AI page at agoogle news link. ... I think the name was Micahel Gietz?? or something like that.
anyway, loved his line about we are the world and Dylan. thats awesome. I give the girl credit for taking the risk.

Kristy Lee Cook -- Easily the winner when it came to the video intros (and believe me, that matters). Kristy said her most embarrassing moment was when she was a little kid and decided she was a dog and went around on all fours growling and barking at people. She even had her own doggie bowl that she drank water out of. Millions of men immediately flashed to the scene from 9 1/2 Weeks in which Kim Basinger drank milk out of a bowl and Kristy unintentionally scored herself a lot of extra votes this week. She sang Journey's "Faithfully" and because she put the tiniest twang on the phrase "wheels go round and round," the judges praised her country feel. In fact, nothing else about the song (not the arrangement, really) was country except for a hint of steel guitar. But it was good and Randy and Paula were right to say it could be a hit on country radio. Still, when she tried to give it a little Steve Perry oomph right towards the end it was a disaster. (When pop stars got together to record "We Are The World," Bob Dylan walked up to Steve Perry and said how much he loved Perry's voice. Lesson: Perry has some of the best pipes, ever.) Simon thought it was forgettable, but in fact it was a good presentation of a very memorable song and that plus the doggie bowl anecdote should carry her through.

She wasn't as bad as Cain, on vocals! I'll give you that.

That's gotta be the one thing every Journey fan agrees on.

There's an actual study that proves if you play Perry's version and then play Cain singing it immediately after, blood start to ooze from your ears, all of your motor functions stop, and then your brain explodes.

And then Steve Perry comes to your house and pisses on you. Image

Yes but before that happens, your brain explodes, remember?
You won't even know what he's doing to you.

But good to know you'd be willing to take a perry shower just to meet him. That's fan devotion right there
(and I think that means you're officially a loon.  )

Sadly, not all Journey fans do agree on this. There are several Journey fans (some on this site) who truly believe that it's just the music, and the songs, and that the vocalist doesn't matter! For me, nothing matters more than the vocalist. You could change every other guy in the band, and I wouldn't even notice. Actually, to be fair, I don't think Neal is easily replaceable. At the end of the day, it's the guy singing the song...not the song (assuming it's a good song)! I'd love to see the look on the face of Journey fans if Journey announced that Jonathan Cain was their new lead singer  I suspect most concerts would empty out, within 30 minutes (assuming their ears could hold up even that long)!

That version of Faithfully was about as entertaining as David Lee Roth's bluegrass version of Jump.

the performance wasn't that good but was on an average scale. she doesn't have that much power in her voice. anyway, I would still going to marry her. :D

Kristy was voted to stay (A'yeshia, I think is out). I don't believe she will last 'tho. I predict Carly will be the next AI winner. I'm glad Danny was voted off - I had a feeling he was gonna be next to go (too immature) & I knew Luke (Orlando Bloom look-a-like) was gonna go - his high voice just stayed the same - no variation.
